Let’s Play at the Cat Cafe!
Hi there! Welcome to the Cat Cafe, where we have the cutest and cuddliest cats in town. Whether you’re a cat lover or just looking for a fun game, you’ve come to the right place. Now, let me explain the rules of the game so that we can get started.
First off, the objective of the game is to make our customers happy by serving them and keeping the cafe in order. Sounds simple, right? Well, there are a few things you need to keep in mind to succeed.
When the game begins, you’ll see a queue of customers waiting to be served. Your job is to click on a customer and then on an empty table to assign them a spot. Each customer has a different level of patience, so make sure to seat them promptly to keep them happy. If their patience runs out, they’ll leave, and we don’t want that!
Now that the customers are seated, it’s time to take their orders. Click on a customer to see what they want to order, and then click on the corresponding item on the menu. Don’t forget to bring the order to the customer’s table once it’s ready. Happy customers mean more points for you!
But wait, there’s more! While you’re working on the orders, keep an eye on the cats. They love attention and may distract you from your tasks. If a cat jumps on a table, make sure to shoo them away by clicking on them. We don’t want them getting too comfortable!
As you progress through the levels, the game will get more challenging. You’ll have more customers to serve, and they’ll have less patience. You’ll also encounter new items on the menu and more mischievous cats. But don’t worry, I know you can handle it!
Remember, the key to success in the Cat Cafe is to keep our customers happy. Seat them promptly, take their orders accurately, and make sure the cats don’t cause too much trouble. With your skills, I’m sure you’ll become the best cat cafe manager in town!
So, are you ready to start the game? Let’s have some cat-filled fun at the Cat Cafe!

When you visit the Cat Cafe, you want to have the best time possible by getting to interact with as many adorable cats as you can! To make that happen, you’ll need to create an inviting space in your corner of the cafe. How? By placing toys, scattering food, and making comfy resting spots. This way, you’ll attract the most cats!
Here’s what you’ll find in the game:
– 1 Pad with 50 sheets
– 4 Pencils
– 5 Dice
– Instructions
The goal of the game is to score the most points. Each round, the dice will be rolled, and players will take turns choosing from the available dice. They will then combine their chosen die with the last remaining die in the center to mark enticing items on their sheet.
These items earn points in different ways, and the player with the highest score at the end of the game wins!
Now, let’s set up the game and get ready for some feline fun!

- So here’s how we get started: everyone gets a sheet of paper and a pencil. Any additional pencils and the notepad can be put back in the box for now.
- Now we need some dice. Place a number of dice in the middle of the table that is equal to the number of players plus one. Any extra dice can be put back in the box as well.
- Alright, now let’s determine who goes first. The player who most recently had the pleasure of petting a cat will take the honors in the first round.
Game Play
When it comes to playing Cat Cafe, each round is split into three parts.
- The first part is the Dice Draft.
- The second part involves marking items and passing.
- Lastly, we check for Completed Columns.
I. Dice Draft

- I roll all the dice on the table.
- Each player, starting with me and going clockwise, chooses one die to keep for this round.
- After every player has chosen a die, there will be one die left on the table.
II. Marking Items
Now, it’s time to mark items on our sheets. We have two options: follow the rules below or ‘pass’ and collect footprints for later rounds when we can change the dice values.
We need two dice values to determine what item we will mark and where we will mark it. The first value is the number on the die we chose to keep, and the second value is the number on the die left on the table.
Using these values, we can mark different items on our sheet. Here are the possible items:

- I am going to talk about some essential items that every cat owner should have.
- The first item on my list is a cat house. It provides a cozy and secure space for your cat to rest and sleep. Cats love having their own little hideaway, and a cat house is perfect for that.
- Next, we have a ball of yarn. Cats are natural hunters, and they love to play with string-like objects. A ball of yarn is a simple and inexpensive toy that will keep your cat entertained for hours.
- Another essential item is a butterfly toy. Cats love to chase after moving objects, and a butterfly toy is a great way to fulfill their hunting instincts. Just watch as your cat pounces and jumps trying to catch the fluttering butterfly.
- A food bowl is also crucial. It’s important to provide your cat with a designated space for their meals. Make sure to choose a bowl that is the right size for your cat and is easy to clean.
- A cushion is another important item. Cats love to nap and relax, and a soft cushion provides the perfect spot for them to do so. Place it in a sunny spot, and watch as your cat curls up and drifts off to sleep.
- Finally, we have a mouse toy. This toy is designed to mimic the movements of a real mouse, and it will quickly become your cat’s favorite plaything. Your furry friend will love chasing and batting at the mouse toy.

So here’s the deal: each hex has two values. The first value tells you which column the item will be marked in. Simple, right? But the second value is where things get interesting. That second value determines the row, or the position on the board, where the item will be marked. You can see this row number in the bottom left corner of each hex.
Now, here’s the cool part: you can mark the item in any column as long as there’s room for it. So, you have the freedom to choose which column to use. Just make sure there’s enough space in that column, and you’re good to go!

So, here’s the thing. When you’re playing this game, you can just mark the item in the hex it belongs to. Easy peasy, right?

When trying to figure out which item corresponds to each unmarked footprint on your sheet, there are a couple of different approaches you can take. You can either draw a picture of the item or write down the letter which corresponds to the item. Another option is to pass, marking three of the unmarked footprints on your sheet.
Let me give you an example to help you understand how this works. Let’s say Hannah rolled a die and it landed on the number 6. The remaining central die shows a value of 4. In this scenario, Hannah has three different options she can choose from.

If you’re ever in need of some fun for your furry friend, I have just the thing for you! In any of the hexagonal grids on the fourth floor, mark the sixth item as ‘Mouse Toy’. This interactive activity will surely bring out the playfulness in your pet. Hopefully, this suggestion helps you find a delightful way to entertain your furry companion.

If you want to mark the 4th item ‘Food Bowl’ on one of the 6th-floor hexes, you can do so by simply following these steps. First, I would recommend taking a look at the layout of the hexes and familiarizing yourself with their different features. This will help you determine which hex would be the most suitable for placing the ‘Food Bowl.’
Next, you can start by identifying the 4th item on your list. Once you have found it, carefully consider the needs and requirements of the ‘Food Bowl.’ Does it need to be placed in a specific area or near any other objects? Take these factors into account as you choose the right hex for it.
Remember, the hex you choose can significantly impact the overall meaning and functionality of the ‘Food Bowl.’ For example, placing it near the water source hex might make it more convenient for pets to access. On the other hand, placing it near a noisy hex might make it harder for pets to eat peacefully.
Additionally, when selecting the hex, it’s essential to think about how other animals or objects in the room might interact with the ‘Food Bowl.’ You don’t want to place it in a spot where it could easily be knocked over or disturbed.
Interpreting the needs of the ‘Food Bowl’ and finding the perfect hex to accommodate those needs might seem daunting at first. But with a bit of patience and consideration, you can find the ideal location for it on the 6th-floor hexes.
So, remember to take your time, think about the various factors involved, and carefully choose where to mark the ‘Food Bowl’ on the 6th-floor hexes. By doing so, you can create a setup that is functional, convenient, and most importantly, tailored to the needs of your pet.

Imagine this: you’re on an exciting adventure, tracking down a mysterious creature in the wild. As you carefully navigate the rugged terrain, you stumble upon a set of footprints – but not just any footprints, these are special footprints. They belong to the creature you’ve been searching for. Your heart races with anticipation as you examine the footprints, trying to make sense of their significance.
Each footprint is a clue, a puzzle piece in this thrilling quest. With each step, you mark the footprints on your sheet, careful not to miss a single one. The unmarked footprints hold the key to unraveling the mystery.
But here’s the catch: you can only mark one item per hex. It’s a challenge that tests your strategic thinking and puzzle-solving skills. Will you choose wisely and uncover the truth? The decision is yours.
Changing the Game
As you progress on your quest, you may find yourself with unused footprints. These footprints hold potential, allowing you to adjust the value of your dice. By circling them and not crossing them out, you gain the power to shape your fate.
Think about it – this simple act of marking a footprint can change the course of your adventure. It’s a reminder that every choice you make has consequences. So, make your moves wisely and embrace the excitement of the unknown.
Note: Only one item may be marked per hex.

When you play the game, you have the power to adjust the value of a die. You can increase or decrease the value by 1. To do this, simply mark one of the footprints on the die. But be careful! You can only increase the value up to 6 or decrease it down to 1.
Remember, you can use multiple footprints on the same round and even on the same die. So don’t be afraid to experiment!
Let me give you an example. Let’s say you have a die with a value of 2, and the central die shows a value of 4. You decide to use 3 footprints. By doing this, you can change your 2 value die to a value of I (-1), and your 4 value die to a value of 6 (+2).
So go ahead and have fun exploring the possibilities!

Unused footprints in the game do not hold any value or points.
Moving on to the next rule, after all the players have made their placements, it’s important to check if any player has completed a column of the cat tower in this round.
A column is considered complete when all the hexes in that column are filled with items.
Now, let’s look at the scoring:
– If this is the first time a column has been completed by any player in the game, the player(s) who completed it this round should mark the larger number at the top of the column with an icon of a Cat House. To score these higher points, the player(s) must have at least one Cat House in that column.
– All other players should mark an icon indicating that the higher score is no longer available.
If I’ve finished a column in a previous turn, another player can still finish it, but they’ll score fewer points. They should mark the lower number with a small image.⠀
If someone completes three columns, the game ends after this turn. If not, the player on the left of the first player this turn becomes the new first player, and the game moves on to the next round, starting with the Dice Draft.⠀
Here’s what the items do:⠀
– Cat House:

Hey there! So, here’s what you do: once you’ve marked a house on the sheet, it’s time to pick a Cat that hasn’t been scored yet. Cool? Then, you’re gonna score two points right away for each of the items on your sheet that have that Cat on ’em. Make sure you jot down the number of points below that particular cat. Simple as that!
Ball Of Yarn

When the game is over, you’ll need to tally up the number of Balls of Yarn in each column. Whoever has the most Balls of Yarn in a column will earn 8 points. Even if you don’t have the most, but you still have at least one Ball of Yarn, you’ll get 3 points for that column. If there is a tie for the most Balls of Yarn in a column, each player who is tied will receive 8 points.
The Amazing Butterfly Toy

If you want to play this game, start by marking an “X” on two footprints that don’t have a mark yet. Remember, you can only mark two footprints. When the game is over, you get 3 points for each butterfly you have.
Feeding Bowl

When the game is over, you earn one point for each unique item that is next to each other.
Soft Pillow

When the game is over, each Cushion will earn points based on the floor it’s placed on. For example, a Cushion on Floor 5 will score 5 points.
Mouse Toy
End of the Game
If you’ve completed three columns this round, the game ends, and we calculate the scores.
You need to calculate the score for each item. Check ‘Effects of Items’ for details. Write down the corresponding score in the space where each item is placed.
Add up all the scores for items, cats, and columns (look at the marked numbers on the columns).
The player with the highest score wins.
If two or more players tie with the highest score, they will share the victory.
