- When you think you’ve got the answer, it’s time to make your move. Tell the Captain Clueless your guess, and they’ll let you know if you’re right or wrong.
- If your team successfully solves the riddle, congratulations! You can move on to the next one and continue your epic adventure.
- But be careful, if you guess wrong, you might get a little setback. Don’t worry though, it’s all part of the game! Just learn from your mistakes and keep pushing forward.

The Setup
- Unfolding the game board is your first task. Make sure it’s placed front and center, so everyone can easily see.
- Gather your crew and divide yourselves into two teams. Sit together, side by side, for better coordination.
- Equip each team with a blindfold and a dry-erase marker of the same color. These will come in handy later on.
- Now, let’s spice things up by shuffling the Port of Call cards. Deal one card face down to each team. The remaining cards go in a separate stack.
How to Play
Alright, let’s get this game started! The team with the player who lost their keys last gets to go first. We need to choose a captain for each team, and I think we’ll call them Captain Clueless. So, when it’s your turn as captain, take a look at your team’s Port of Call card and show it to everyone.
This card will tell us the destination where we need to guide our ship. We should position the game board right in front of us and take a moment to find the port’s location on the map. Once we’re ready, let’s put on the blindfold – but be careful not to peek!
Now, a teammate will hand you the uncapped marker and give you a hand in placing the tip on our team’s home port, which is located in the upper left corner of the board.
Here comes the exciting part! One player from the other team should turn the sand timer and say, “Bon Voyage!” That’s our signal to start drawing a route to our destination.
Remember: Once the marker is on the board, none of us can touch the board with any part of our bodies!

It might take some trial and error, but that’s part of the fun. And remember, your teammates can’t physically guide you, so you have to rely on their words alone.

When we play this game, we can say single words in any order we want. It can be words like left, right, up, down, stop, slow, and more. It’s important to know that if two people speak at the same time, it counts as two words spoken!
And, hey, one player from the other team should count how many words we say.
Ending a Turn
We keep drawing our route until one of the following things happen:
- We reach the port we chose (when our marker touches the anchor icon).
- We hit land, a buoy, a mermaid, or a sailboat (if this happens, our opponents should yell, “Crash!”).
- We take our marker off the board.
- Our team says more words than we’re allowed to.
- Time runs out (if this happens, someone from the other team should say, “Time’s Up!”).
If You Reached Your Port
Imagine this: you close your eyes and take a deep breath, getting ready for an exciting adventure. As your teammates guide you, you start to draw a path towards the anchor icon, your chosen port of call. With every step, you can’t help but wonder where you’ll end up.
Finally, you remove your blindfold and open your eyes, and there it is — your marker landed perfectly on the anchor icon! You can’t help but feel a sense of accomplishment and awe at what you’ve just achieved.
Now it’s time for the other team to take their turn. You eagerly await what comes next as they draw their Port of Call card, revealing their next destination.
As the game progresses, each team takes turns being the captain, responsible for drawing the route from the previous port to the new one. It’s an important role, as they also need to keep track of the word limit for that leg of the journey.
What if You Didn’t Reach Your Port?
If you don’t make it to the port when it’s your turn, the other team gets to play.
When it’s your team’s next turn, another player becomes the captain and has to start where you left off on the board.
If you were on land when you stopped, use the eraser to go back to the nearest point on water.
You still have to stick to the same word limit as on your previous turn.
Time to Finish the Game!
Once we’ve made it to our third destination, it’s time to head back home.
Just a quick reminder, we can only use two words per leg from here on out!
The team that manages to visit all three destinations and make it back home first will be the winner.
