Bloom Game Rules
Hey there! Let’s dive into the exciting world of Bloom, where the rules are as fascinating as the game itself. Are you ready? Great, let’s get started!
Setup: To begin, you’ll need a deck of cards, a pen, and some paper. Shuffle the deck thoroughly and deal five cards to each player face-down. Each player should keep their cards hidden from their opponents. Objective: The goal of Bloom is to be the first player to reach 21 points. You earn points by creating words using the letters on your cards. The longer the word, the more points you earn! Playing the Game: Okay, now it’s time to start playing! The youngest player goes first, and the turns continue clockwise. On your turn, you can choose to do one of the following actions:
1. Bloom: You can play a word using the letters in your hand. To do this, you’ll need to write down the word and calculate the total points earned. Make sure to keep track of your points!
2. Swap: If you don’t have any words to play or if you want to change your hand, you can swap one or more of your cards with the cards in the deck. However, be careful, as swapping cards will cost you one point for each card swapped.
Building Words: When creating a word, you can use any combination of letters from your hand. The letters must be adjacent to each other and can be arranged in any order. For example, if you have the letters “D,” “O,” and “G” in your hand, you can create the word “DOG.” Scoring: Points are awarded based on the length of the word you create. Each letter is worth one point, and if your word has five or more letters, you earn a bonus of five points. So, the longer the word, the more points you earn towards your goal of 21. Ending the Game: The game ends when a player reaches 21 points. If multiple players reach 21 in the same round, the player with the highest total score wins. Congratulations! A Quick Tip: Remember, creativity is key in Bloom. Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and unleash your imagination when creating words.
Now that you know the rules, it’s time to gather your friends and start playing Bloom. Have a blast and may the best wordsmith win!
Compete against other players in a fun game that involves picking flowers for your customers. When it’s your turn, choose a colored die from a pool of dice that represent customers. Then, mark the matching colored flowers on your sheet.
But here’s the catch! Your customers have specific preferences and will only accept bouquets in their favorite color. The game ends when a player marks all the flowers in three different colors or when someone completes four garden beds.
The player with the highest score wins the game.
Let’s talk about setting up the game:
1. Each player receives a random sheet labeled A, B, C, D, or E in the bottom right corner. Make sure everyone has a pen or pencil.
2. Put the 6 dice in the center of the playing area.
Now, let’s dive into the gameplay.
In the game of Bloom, we play through multiple rounds. The person who received a flower last starts the first round, and we continue playing in a clockwise direction. Each round follows these steps:
- Roll the 6 dice.
- Select customers and create bouquets.
- End the round.
A. Roll the 6 Dice
At the start of a round, the first player rolls all 6 dice to make a pool of dice that is shared by everyone. These dice represent the customers.
B. Select Customers & Make Bouquets
Beginning with the first player, we take turns picking 1 die from the shared pool. Each player then circles the exact number of flowers that matches the value of the chosen die. You have the option to circle fewer flowers, but keep in mind that this will make the customers unhappy (refer to Unhappy Customers).

Important Gardening Tips
Hey there! If you’re into gardening like me, then you know how important it is to choose the right flowers for your garden. Let me share some tips with you on how to make the most out of your gardening experience.
Tip 1: Strategy is Key
First things first, when approaching a garden puzzle, it’s crucial to have a strategy in place. Remember these rules:
- You can only circle flowers that are horizontally or vertically adjacent to each other.
- You can circle flowers even if they are in different garden beds, as long as they are adjacent to each other.
Tip 2: Analyze the Overall Meaning
Now, let’s talk about understanding the bigger picture. When you approach a garden, take a moment to look at the layout and analyze the overall meaning it conveys. Do certain flower combinations create a specific feel or atmosphere? Consider this as you plan your own garden.
Tip 3: Experiment and Have Fun
Gardening is an art, and like any art form, it thrives on experimentation and creativity. Don’t be afraid to try new flower combinations or experiment with different garden designs. Remember, the garden is your own canvas – have fun with it!
Tip 4: Observe and Adapt
As you nurture your garden, keep an eye on how the plants respond and adapt accordingly. Some flowers might need more sunlight, while others may prefer shade. By observing and understanding the needs of your plants, you can give them the care they need to thrive.
Tip 5: Get Inspired
If you’re looking for inspiration, why not explore other gardens or seek advice from fellow garden enthusiasts? Exchanging ideas and experiences can help spark your creativity and introduce you to new techniques or flower varieties that you might fall in love with.
Tip 6: Patience is Key
Remember, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a beautiful garden. Gardening takes time, effort, and patience. Be gentle with yourself and be patient with your garden. Trust that with care and perseverance, you will see your garden blossom into something truly magnificent.
So, there you have it. These gardening tips will set you on the right path to create a stunning and thriving garden. Now go out there and let your gardening prowess shine!
For example: I’m the one who gets to start the game. I pick and mark off 4 orange flowers. Remember, no one else can pick during this round.
The Surprise Die #image.jpg
When you pick the clear die, you get to choose which color the customer will be.
Example: I took some time to think about it, and I’ve come to the conclusion that I want to be known as a Pink Customer. So, I carefully picked out 4 pink flowers and circled them on my list.
Purple Flowers
Purple flowers are really interesting because they sometimes look blue or even red depending on how you look at them.
Example: I pick out 4 blue flowers and 1 white flower.
The Sad Customers
If I pick flowers that are a different color than my chosen die or I pick fewer flowers than my die value, those customers will be unhappy with me.
- If I make an error in color, I will get a tick mark in the unhappy customer section on my sheet.
- If I don’t pick enough flowers, I will also get a tick mark in the unhappy customer section.
For each unwanted or missing flower, I will receive -1 point. So, it’s important to choose wisely!
Example: I went ahead and picked out three yellow flowers and one purple flower. Now, let’s add three check marks to the unhappy customer section. One check mark goes for the purple flower, and two check marks go for the missing flowers.
Bouquet
If you manage to circle all the flowers of a certain color, say “Bouquet!” and circle the number of that color that is the highest. Everyone else will cross off this number in their own section.
Example: I found all the orange flowers on my sheet and circled the orange 6 in the section where I score colored flowers. Then, I crossed off the Orange 6 for everyone else. Now, the orange 4 is the next number I can score.
Garden Beds
The flowers are divided into six garden beds on each sheet. Once I circle all 12 flowers in a garden bed, I can circle the first available number in the “garden beds” scoring section. The more garden beds I score, the more points the next one is worth.
I’m going to tell you a story about Lisa and her garden. Lisa had a beautiful garden with lots of colorful flowers. She loved spending time taking care of them and watching them grow. One day, Lisa decided to play a game in her garden and have some fun.
Let’s Play
Here’s how the game works: Lisa had 12 flower beds in her garden, each with different kinds of flowers. The goal of the game was to circle all 12 flowers in one of the garden beds.
A Challenge
It wasn’t an easy task, though. Lisa had already circled one garden bed, so she had to find a new one to circle next. She looked around and saw a garden bed with 4 flowers in it. She took her pen and circled the number 4 on her garden bed scoring section.
The Points
Now, Lisa had earned 7 points for her garden beds. She was one step closer to winning the game. She was excited and couldn’t wait to circle all the flowers in another bed. She knew it would take some time and effort, but it was worth it.
Keep Going
Lisa continued playing the game, circling flowers in different garden beds. Each time she circled a flower, she earned more points. She loved the challenge and the feeling of accomplishment with each new circle.
The Winner
Finally, after circling all 12 flowers in all the garden beds, Lisa had earned a total of 12 points. She had won the game! Her garden looked even more beautiful with all the circled flowers. She was proud of herself and knew that all her hard work had paid off.
The End
And that’s the end of the story of Lisa’s garden game. The game taught her the value of persistence and determination. She learned that with a little effort, she could overcome challenges and achieve her goals.
Re-roll
Hey there! Guess what? I have a special power in this game that lets me do something really cool. Once per game, I can re-roll all the dice that are still available to me when it’s my turn to choose a die. Pretty awesome, right? And get this, I can even use this power even if I’m not the start player. How cool is that? Oh, and once I use this power, I just have to cross off the re-roll icon on my scoresheet. No more re-rolls for me.
Oh, and here’s a tip: If I don’t end up using a re-roll, it’s not wasted. I can still get 1 point for it at the end of the game. Gotta love those bonus points!
Oh, I Almost Forgot – End of a Round
A round ends when all the players have gone and everyone has circled their flowers. At that point, we gather up all 6 dice and hand them over to the next player in clockwise order. And just like that, the next round begins with phase A, where we all roll the 6 dice again. It’s like a fresh start every time!
Quick note: If it’s just a 2-player game, the round keeps going until both players have taken 2 dice each. We want to make sure everyone gets a fair shot, right?
And Finally, the End of the Game
We keep playing rounds until one of two things happens: either one player has circled three numbers in the color section, or one player has circled the fourth number in the garden bed section. That’s when the game comes to a close. It’s always exciting to see who will come out on top!
Now that we’ve reached the end of the round, it’s time to tally up our scores. Let me walk you through the steps:
- First, add up the points for all the circled numbers in the color section.
- Next, calculate the points for all the circled numbers in the garden bed section.
- You’ll earn an additional point if you didn’t use your re-roll power.
- Don’t forget to subtract a point for each tick mark in the unhappy customer section.
Once you’ve done all the math, add up the total score. The player with the highest score is the winner. It’s that simple!
If there happens to be a tie, don’t worry. We’ve got a solution for that too. The player with the fewest unhappy customers will be crowned the victor. And if there’s still a tie after that, well, it’s time for a rematch!
Solo Play
- When playing solo, you’ll only use the 5 colored dice.
- Each color has a maximum score of 4 points.
- A round will continue until you’ve taken 2 dice.
I’m excited to share with you a fun game you can play to test your skills and challenge yourself. It’s called “Points Galore!” and the goal is simple: try to score as many points as you can in 8 rounds. Sounds like a blast, right? Let me show you how it works.
Here’s the deal: you have a sheet with a tracker at the bottom. This tracker will help you keep count of your points throughout the game. Your objective is to score as many points as possible in each of the 8 rounds. It’s like a competition with yourself, where you get to see how high you can go.
Each round will present you with a different challenge. It could be solving a puzzle, answering a trivia question, or completing a task. Whatever it is, put on your thinking cap and give it your best shot. Remember, the more points you earn, the better!
Now, I have a little secret to share with you. The more rounds you complete, the more points you can win. So, don’t give up easily. Keep going, and watch your score soar.
By the way, you don’t have to keep track of the rules yourself. The sheet has everything you need to know. Just follow the instructions, and you’ll be on your way to being a Points Galore champion.
So what do you say? Are you ready to test your skills and see how many points you can rack up? Get that sheet ready, and let the games begin!
