Welcome to Blood Bound!
Today, I want to discuss the rules of the game with you. Blood Bound is an exciting and thrilling game that will keep you on the edge of your seat. It’s all about deception, strategy, and teamwork. So, let’s dive in and explore how the game works.
Objective
In Blood Bound, your main objective is to identify and eliminate the opposing clan’s leader. But here’s the twist – you won’t know who is on your team or who belongs to the rival clan. It’s a game of secrets and hidden identities.
Setting Up
Before starting the game, gather your friends and select a leader for each clan – the Cursed and the Pure. The rest of the players will become members of these clans. Each player will receive a character card that will determine their role and special abilities.
Now, it’s time to shuffle the loyalty cards and deal them out. These cards will reveal which clan each player belongs to, but remember, not all cards will be used. This adds an element of mystery, as you won’t know who is on your team.
Finally, set up the game board and place the leader tokens on the respective leader spaces. You’re now ready to play Blood Bound!
Gameplay
The game proceeds in rounds, with each round consisting of two phases – the Investigation phase and the Attack phase.
In the Investigation phase, players take turns asking each other questions to gather information about their loyalty. This is where the deception and strategy come into play. You can choose to tell the truth or lie to mislead other players. The goal is to gather enough information to identify the opposing leader, while also protecting your own.
Once the Investigation phase is complete, it’s time for the Attack phase. In this phase, players can target another player with an attack. The attacking player must choose a player to attack, and the defending player can choose to either block the attack or use their special ability to counter it. The player who receives the attack loses one life point.
The game continues with alternating rounds of investigation and attack until one of the leaders is eliminated. The surviving leader’s team wins the game!
Strategy and Tactics
Blood Bound is a game of careful observation and deduction. Pay close attention to the information you gather during the Investigation phase, and use it to your advantage. Remember that not everyone is telling the truth, so don’t trust blindly.
Communication and teamwork are key to success in this game. Work together with your fellow clan members to uncover the opposing leader and eliminate them. But be cautious – revealing your own loyalty too early may make you a target.
Additionally, make use of your character’s special abilities. Each character has a unique power that can help you gather information, protect your leader, or disrupt the enemy’s plans. Understanding these abilities and using them effectively can give your team a crucial advantage.
Conclusion
Blood Bound is an exhilarating game that will test your strategic thinking and deception skills. It’s a game of hidden identities and secret alliances, where trust is a precious commodity. So gather your friends, choose your clan, and get ready to experience an intense battle where every decision matters. Are you ready to uncover the truth and emerge victorious?

Character Identity
I’m captivated by a fantastical game called “{GAME_NAME}”. Inside the box are various bewitching items that transport me to a mythical land. Let me share these components with you:
There are {CHARACTER_COUNT} character cards, each enchanting in its own way. {ROSE_CLAN_COUNT} belong to the Rose Clan, {INQUISITOR_COUNT} represent the Inquisitors, while {BEAST_CLAN_COUNT} cards hail from the Beast Clan.
There are also {REFERENCE_CARD_COUNT} reference cards that help us navigate this magical realm with ease. These cards are like our guiding stars.
To keep track of our ranks, we have {RANK_TOKEN_COUNT} rank tokens. They signify our position and status in the game.
Don’t you find the idea of affiliations intriguing? We have {ROSE_AFFILIATION_COUNT} Rose Affiliation Tokens, {BEAST_AFFILIATION_COUNT} Beast Affiliation Tokens, and {UNKNOWN_AFFILIATION_COUNT} Unknown Affiliation Tokens. It’s mysterious, isn’t it?
With our abilities, we can protect ourselves, attack others, or even cast enchantments. For defense, we have {SHIELD_ABILITY_COUNT} Shield Ability Cards. To unleash a potent offensive strike, we hold {SWORD_ABILITY_COUNT} Sword Ability Cards. If we wish to bring misfortune to our foes, {CURSE_ABILITY_COUNT} Curse Ability Cards grant us that power. And for those who favor a more delicate approach, we possess {FAN_ABILITY_COUNT} Fan Ability Cards. Additionally, {STAFF_ABILITY_COUNT} Staff Ability Cards allow us to wield a magical staff, while {QUILL_ABILITY_COUNT} Quill Ability Cards grant us a creative twist.
Lastly, we have a Cardboard Dagger that completes our arsenal. With it, we can imagine ourselves as fearless warriors.
Now, let’s uncover the purpose of this captivating journey. The game’s objective is simple yet thrilling: capture the leader of the rival clan. If you succeed, victory is yours, and your clan will savor the spoils of triumph. However, be wary! Should you capture anyone other than the rival clan’s leader, defeat will befall you, and the other clan will revel in their victory.
Embrace your character identity and immerse yourself in this extraordinary adventure!
When you play Blood Bound, you get to become someone else. It’s like stepping into a different world, a world where you’re a character with a unique identity. In this game, every player takes on a role, and that role is made up of different things that make you who you are.

The small picture in the top left corner of the character card is called the avatar. It’s always a picture of the character, and it helps you quickly identify the character when scrolling through your collection. The character’s name is displayed in large, bold letters on the card. It’s usually the first thing you notice when looking at the card, and it’s an important way to distinguish between different characters. Underneath the character’s name, you’ll see the character’s faction. This is represented by a small icon that shows which clan the character belongs to. There are three main clans in the game: the Rose clan, the Beast clan, and the Secret Order. Knowing the character’s faction can give you valuable information about their strengths, weaknesses, and play style. Next, you’ll find the character’s portrait. This is a larger image of the character that gives you a closer look at their appearance and costume. It’s a great way to get a sense of the character’s personality and style. Below the portrait, you’ll see the character’s stats. These are important numbers that indicate the character’s abilities and power level. There are usually several different stats displayed, such as attack power, defense power, and health points. Understanding these stats is crucial for building a strong team and strategizing during battles. Finally, at the bottom of the card, you’ll find the character’s description. This is a brief paragraph that provides some background information about the character, their story, and their role in the game. It’s a great way to get to know the character on a deeper level and can help you decide if they’re a good fit for your playstyle.
Getting Started
If you’re playing a game with an even number of players, follow these setup steps. For games with an odd number of players, please refer to “Changes to Setup” on page 6.
Before we start playing, let’s set up the game:
- Get the Supplies Ready: Put the numbered rank tokens in the middle of the play area. Arrange them in two rows, starting with the lowest number and going up. Place each ability card faceup next to its corresponding rank token. Take the affiliation tokens and separate them into three piles. Put them next to the rank tokens.
- Hand Out Reference Cards: Give each player one reference card.
- Separating the Characters: First, I’ll need to gather all the Secret Order character cards and put them away in the game box. Next, I’ll take all the Rose clan character cards, mix them up, and set aside a number of them equal to half the total number of players. The remaining Rose clan character cards should be put back in the game box without anyone looking at them. Finally, I’ll repeat the same process with the Beast clan character cards.
- Distributing the Characters: Once the characters are separated, I’ll gather all the previously set aside character cards, mix them up again, and give one card to each player, face down. Each player should then discreetly look at their character card, making sure not to reveal it to anyone else.
Show Clue Icon to Player on Left: First, I grab my reference card and place it over my character card. I make sure the lower-right notch of the reference card shows my character’s clue icon. Then, I show my clue icon to the player on my left. I have to be careful not to reveal any other information on the card or let anyone else see the clue icon. Determine Starting Active Player: Next, we need to decide who will be the first player. We do this by randomly giving the dagger to one of the players. The player who gets the dagger is the active player and goes first in the game.

When I think about the word “important,” I can’t help but wonder what it really means. It’s one of those words that we use all the time, but do we truly understand its significance? As I ponder on this, something very interesting comes to mind – the concept of clues.
Imagine you’re trying to solve a puzzle. You’re faced with a challenge, and you need to find a way to crack it. What do you do? Well, the first thing you’d probably do is look for clues.
Clues are like little pieces of information that guide us in the right direction. They give us hints and suggestions that help us on our journey. Without clues, we’d be lost, struggling to find a solution.
Now, think about the word “important” as a clue. It’s a word that tells us that something matters. It’s a pointer, an indicator that tells us to pay attention.
When something is important, it means that it holds value. It’s not something we can casually dismiss or ignore. It’s something that we need to take into account, something that commands our attention.
So, the next time you come across something important, remember its significance. Remember that it’s like a clue, showing you the way. And if you’re willing to follow that clue, you might just discover something amazing.

Playing the Game
In the game Blood Bound, we take turns attacking each other until one of us gets captured. When it’s your turn, you’ll be the active player. Let me walk you through the actions you can take during your turn:
- Attack: This is your chance to attack another player. Choose any player and go for it! Once you make your attack, you’ll give the cardboard dagger to the player you attacked. They become the new active player, and it’s their turn.
- Pass: If you don’t feel like attacking, you can pass the dagger to someone else. They become the new active player and take their turn.
How to Attack

When playing the game, I can gather information about other players by attacking them. To attack, I simply point the dagger at another player and declare them as my target. The targeted player will then suffer one wound.
After that, I pass the dagger to the targeted player, who then becomes the active player and takes their turn. We continue taking turns like this until one player gets captured, which ends the game.
Getting Wounded
Whenever a player gets wounded, they have to reveal part of their identity. They take a token from the supply and place it next to their facedown character card, so that everyone can see the icon on the token.
When I’m playing this game, I need to choose a token that has the same icon as one of the icons on my character card. I can only have one token for each icon on my card.
Before I get hurt in the game, I can ask another player if they want to take the hit for me instead. This is called “intervening” and can save me from getting hurt.
When I do get hurt, I can’t pretend to be a different character by using tokens that don’t match my character’s identity. The only exception to this rule is if I have the Inquisitor card, which allows me to use any affiliation icons.

Example: So, I’m playing the game, right? And I’m like, okay, I’m gonna attack the person next to me. But I don’t want to reveal my rank just yet, so instead of taking the damage, I decide to take an affiliation token. I’m part of the Rose clan, so I can either take a rose affiliation token or an unknown one. I go with the unknown one, keeping my clan allegiance a secret. I grab the token from the pile and place it next to my character card, face-down.
Now, let’s talk about capturing. If a player gets hit with their fourth wound, they become captured. That means they flip their character card face-up, and the game ends right then and there.
Capturing
When a player gets their fourth wound, they’re out of the game. They have to flip their character card face-up, and that’s it, game over. No more playing.
Intervening
If you want to protect a fellow clan member or have a secret strategy, you can step in to help them during an attack.
Any player who has a rank token can offer to help. If multiple players want to help, the person being attacked can choose only one offer; they don’t have to accept any. If they do accept an offer, the person helping takes the wound instead.
When they take the wound, the person helping has to show their rank by taking their token from the supply.
Then, the active player gives the dagger to the helper, who becomes the new active player and takes their turn.
For example: The active player decides to attack the player on their left and declares them as the target. Before that player takes the wound, they ask if anyone wants to help, and two other players offer.
The target already has two wounds (shown by the #image.jpg and
tokens next to their face-down character card), so they accept help from one of the players.
The person helping has to show their rank to take the wound. They take one of the “4” rank tokens from the supply and put it next to their face-down character card. Now everyone knows they are the Alchemist, but not which clan they belong to.
Now, the Alchemist uses their ability to make the player they helped take a wound. Since the player already has two wounds, they have to take their rank token as their third wound.
They take the “7” rank token from the supply and put it next to their face-down character card. Now everyone knows they are the Beast clan Berserker. Finally, the active player gives the dagger to the helper (the Alchemist).
Skills
Have you ever wondered what makes someone successful or stand out from the crowd? Well, let me tell you – it’s all about their skills! Skills are like superpowers that everyone possesses, and they can be developed and enhanced with practice and dedication.
There are countless skills out there, but some of the most valuable ones include:
- Communication Skills: These are the tools that allow us to express ourselves clearly and effectively. They involve both listening and speaking, and they are essential in all aspects of life, whether it’s at school, work, or in personal relationships. Good communication skills can help you connect with others, solve problems, and even negotiate better.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Life is full of challenges and obstacles, and problem-solving skills are what help us overcome them. These skills involve critical thinking, creativity, and resourcefulness. When you have strong problem-solving skills, you can approach any issue with confidence and find innovative solutions.
- Adaptability: The world is constantly changing, and being able to adapt to new situations and circumstances is crucial. Adaptability is all about being flexible and open-minded, embracing change, and thriving in different environments. It allows you to adjust your plans and strategies as needed, making you more resilient and versatile.
- Leadership: Leadership skills are not just for those in positions of authority. They are about taking initiative, inspiring others, and leading by example. Strong leadership skills can help you motivate and influence people, collaborate effectively, and make positive changes in any setting.
- Time Management: Time is a precious resource, and effective time management is key to productivity and success. This skill involves setting goals, prioritizing tasks, and managing your time wisely. When you have good time management skills, you can stay organized, meet deadlines, and achieve more in less time.
These are just a few examples of the many skills that can make a difference in your life. The great thing about skills is that they can be learned and improved upon. So, don’t be afraid to explore new areas, challenge yourself, and develop your skills. Remember, your skills are what set you apart and make you unique – so embrace them and unleash your full potential!

In this game, every character possesses a special ability that they can use to help their team, hinder their opponents, or even change the outcome of the game in their favor.
Right after a player takes their rank token and gets injured during an attack, whether they are the target or step in to help, they can utilize their unique character ability. You can find a detailed explanation of each ability below.
Keep in mind: An ability that causes a player to get injured is not considered an attack.
The End of the Game

When we play the game, it comes to an end if someone gets captured. At that point, we all reveal our character cards by flipping them over. You know, it’s like a big reveal of our true identities.
Now, here’s the deal. If the player who captured someone managed to get the leader of the rival clan, well, they win! That player and their entire clan are victorious. They can celebrate their achievement because it means they’ve won the game.
But, uh-oh, things don’t go so well if the captured player isn’t the rival clan’s leader. In that case, the active player and their clan lose. The rival clan gets the glory and comes out as the winners. Tough luck, right?
By the way, just a little side note. The leader of each clan is the one with the lowest number on their card. Remember that little detail, it’s important!
