Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? Game Rules
Introduction
Hey there! Have you ever wondered if you’re smarter than a 5th grader? Well, now is your chance to find out! In this game, I will explain the rules and how to play. Let’s get started!
Objective
The objective of the game is to answer a series of questions correctly and prove that you are indeed smarter than a 5th grader. Sounds simple, right? Well, let’s dive into the details to make sure you’re fully prepared.
Gameplay
1. The game consists of multiple-choice questions from various subjects like math, science, history, and more.
2. You will be given a question and four possible answers to choose from.
3. To answer, simply click on the option you think is correct.
4. If you chose the right answer, congratulations! You earn points and move on to the next question.
5. However, if you choose the wrong answer, don’t worry! You can use one of your “cheat” options to stay in the game.
The Cheats
In this game, you are allowed to use three cheats to help you along the way. Here they are:
1. Peek: If you’re uncertain about the answer, you can “peek” at one of your classmates’ answers before making your final decision. This might give you some valuable insights.
2. Copy: Feeling a little stuck? You can choose to “copy” one of your classmates’ answers, hoping they got it right.
3. Save: If you’re not confident in your answer, you can decide to “save” and skip that question altogether. However, remember that you’ll avoid losing points but also miss out on potential points.
Scoring
As you answer questions correctly, you will accumulate points. Each question is assigned a specific point value based on its difficulty. The more difficult the question, the more points you can earn. The game will keep track of your score, so pay attention!
Conclusion
That’s it! Now that you know the rules of the game, it’s time to put your knowledge to the test. Are you smarter than a 5th grader? There’s only one way to find out. Good luck and have fun!

The Goal of the Game
Your task is this: answer 11 questions from grade school and show that you are cleverer than a 5th grader to win one million dollars!
Game Set-Up
To get started, place the money gameboard and the grade gameboard right in front of you and your friends. Each player picks a money marker pawn and puts it next to the money gameboard. Next to the gameboards, you’ll find the Peek, Copy, and Save pawns; make sure to put them there.
Hey, it’s time to set up the game! Here’s what you need to do:
First, gather all the materials: the card reader sleeve, the 10 grade markers, and the $1,000 tokens. Make sure you have the gameboards ready too.
Now, let’s organize the question cards. You’ll have six decks: one for each grade level (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade), and one for the Million Dollar questions. Take each deck and place them in the different sections of the plastic tray.
That’s it! Everything’s all set up and ready to go. Have fun playing!
Let’s Play the Game!
So here’s the deal: your job is to answer 10 questions correctly, with 2 questions from each grade level, and then ace the Million Dollar question. It’s not as easy as it sounds, but I’m here to guide you through it.
Now, there are two ways for you to make money:
- Answer questions correctly when it’s your turn.
- Help out another player by answering their question correctly.
But first things first – we need to decide who goes first. We’ll start with that player and continue clockwise, taking turns.
I’ll teach you how to play the Grade Game. It’s a fun and educational game that challenges your knowledge in various subjects. Here’s how it works:
1. Choose a deck of cards from any grade level between 1st and 5th grade. Make sure the grade you choose is still available on the gameboard.
2. Insert the card into the card reader sleeve, following the instructions. The red reader window will display the question. Read it out loud to all players.
3. Each player writes down their answer on their own piece of paper. Now, you have two options:
– If you feel confident in your answer, share it with everyone. Then, reveal the correct answer by pulling the card through the top of the card reader until it appears in the red window.
– If you’re unsure about the answer, you can peek at or copy another player’s answer. Find out how in the Peek or Copy section below.
That’s it! Have fun and challenge yourself to learn while playing the Grade Game. Remember, the more you play, the more you’ll grow your knowledge!
Correct Answer

If you get the answer right, keep the card and put the grade marker on the corresponding grade spot on the grade gameboard. Then, put the money marker on the $1,000 spot on the money gameboard.
Your turn keeps going. Pick another question card and do the same thing for each card you answer correctly. Move the money marker up one level on the money gameboard, take the completed card, and put the grade marker on the matching grade spot on the grade gameboard. You can pick a question card from grades 1 to 5, but you can’t pick more than 2 from the same deck during the game.
Oops, Wrong Answer!
Uh-oh, looks like I got that one wrong. Unfortunately, that means I’m out of the race for the million-dollar prize, and my turn is over. At least I get to keep any $1,000 tokens I’ve already won, so it’s not all bad. I’ll still stick around to help out my fellow players if they need it, and who knows, I might still earn some money that way.
Since I answered incorrectly, I need to remove the grade markers from the grade gameboard, and my money marker from the money gameboard. The game will continue with the next player taking their turn.
Note: Once I make it past the $25,000 level, I’m guaranteed to walk away with at least $25,000, even if I answer incorrectly.
Cash Out and Walk Away
Before I find out if my answer is right or wrong, I have the option to quit the game and take home any winnings I’ve accumulated so far. If I decide to do this, I won’t have a chance to win any more money, but I can still lend a hand to my fellow players if they need it, which could earn me some money too.
Hey there, before we get started, I want you to know that this game is all about having fun and testing your knowledge. So, let’s dive in!
Leave your marker on the money gameboard and take off the grade markers from the grade gameboard. When the game ends, we’ll add up all your earnings to find out who the winner is. But for now, I need you to make a little announcement: “I am NOT smarter than a 5th grader!”
Take a Look or Borrow
If you’re not sure about an answer, don’t worry! You have two options: peek or copy.
Peek
If you want, you can take a sneak peek at another player’s answer once during the game. This will give you some extra information to help you make a decision.

If you decide to take a sneak peek – put the Peek pawn in front of the player whose answer you want a look at. It’s up to you if you want to go with that player’s answer or make your own decision.
- If you and the other player have the same answer, and both of your answers are right, move your money marker up to the next level and keep playing. The player whose answer you peeked at gets a $1,000 token.
- If your answer is different from the other player’s answer, and your answer is correct, move your money marker up to the next level and keep playing. The player whose answer you peeked at doesn’t get a $1,000 token.
Rules
If you get the answer wrong and another player gets it right, you’re out of the running for the million dollars. You can still keep any $1,000 tokens you’ve won. You’ll continue to assist other players and have the potential to earn money that way.

If you decide to copy, place the Copy pawn in front of the player who has the answer you want. You must use their answer.
- If the answer is correct, move your money marker up to the next level and keep playing. The player whose answer you copied gets a $1,000 token.
- If the answer is incorrect, you’re out of the running for the million dollars and can’t take any more turns. However, you get to keep any $1,000 tokens you’ve already won. (You can still help other players if they ask, and you may earn money that way). Take off the grade markers from the grade gameboard and remove your money marker from the money gameboard. The player whose answer you copied doesn’t get a $1,000 token.
Save
If you give a wrong answer (even if you peek or copy), you have one chance to “save yourself” during the game.

Here’s how the Save pawn works: You place it in front of another player, and they have to reveal their answer.
If the player is correct, you move your money marker up and continue with your turn. The player who saved you gets a $1,000 token as a reward.
If the player is incorrect, you’re out of the running for the million dollars and don’t get any more turns. However, you still get to help other players if they ask for it, and you can earn money that way.
Now for the Million Dollar Question
If you manage to answer all 10 grade school questions correctly, you have the chance to go for the million dollars! Take the top card from the Million Dollar card deck and put it into the magic reader. Read the question out loud and give your answer. You can’t get help from any other player.
Can You Win a Million Dollars?
Hey there! I have an exciting game for you. It’s called “Can You Win a Million Dollars?” Let me explain how it works.
The Objective
The goal of the game is simple: be the first player to win a million dollars! Sounds amazing, right? But it’s not as easy as it seems. There are challenges and questions you have to overcome.
The Questions
You’ll face a series of questions, and for each question, you will have two options to choose from. If you answer correctly, congratulations! You move on to the next question. However, if you answer incorrectly, you are out of the running for the million dollars. Don’t worry, though – you get to keep any $1,000 tokens you’ve previously won. You can still help other players if they ask for it, and you might even earn some money that way!
Game Over
Remember, there are only two outcomes in this game:
- If you answered correctly, the game is over – you are the winner!
- If you answer incorrectly, you are out of the running for the million dollars and take no more turns. You keep any $1,000 tokens you previously won. (You still help other players if asked, and may earn money that way).
End of the Game
Be the first to win a million dollars! If no player reaches the Million Dollar level, the player with the most money wins the game.
