Once we’ve got our teams all set up, we need to make sure that each team’s score mover is at the bottom right next to the handle of the Giant Mystery Decoder. And don’t forget to place the stack of Mystery Cards right in between the two teams.”

Get in the Game

1. Whoever on the team has a birthday closest to Halloween goes first. They’ll have the first shot at solving the mystery, so they get to hold onto the Giant Mystery Decoder.
2. Someone from the opposing team will be the Reader. They won’t be trying to solve the mystery on this card.
3. The Reader takes the top Mystery Card and flips it over. They can’t show the card to anyone else.
4. In their scariest voice, the Reader reads the title at the top of the card, “The Case” and “The Mystery”.
5. Once “The Mystery” is read, the first team has to take a shot at solving it. When they’ve made up their minds, they hand the Giant Mystery Decoder over to the Reader.

As I hold the intriguing Giant Mystery Decoder over “The Solution” on the card, something incredible happens – it magically unveils the answer, but I keep it to myself and don’t show it to anyone else. ��‍♂️

• 2 Points: To solve the mystery, you need to hear the title, the case, and three clues.
• 1 Point: To solve the mystery, you need to hear the title, the case, and all four clues.

End of the Game

The game is won by the team that moves its score to the top of the Giant Mystery Decoder first!

Tips for Winning

When your team makes a guess, make sure everyone agrees on the answer.
