Q: Can I store more than 2 chocolate pieces in my store room?
A: Nope, you can only hold a maximum of 2 chocolate pieces in your store room (6 if you’re the Factory Manager). You’re not supposed to run out of chocolates, but if you do, just make sure to keep track of any extras you’ve made.
Q: What happens to the chocolates that get pushed out of my Factory?
A: Whenever you push chocolate pieces out of your Factory on a conveyor tile, all those chocolates immediately go onto your store room card.
Q: What happens to the chocolates left on my Factory board at the end of the game?
A: You shouldn’t have any left! Once you’ve completed your Factory run on the sixth day (Saturday), make sure to move all your chocolates from anywhere in your Factory into your store room before you fulfill your final orders. Remember, you can’t do this during the first five days (Monday-Friday).
Q: Can I use the same Factory Part more than once in one Shift?
A: No, you can’t!
Q: How can I keep track of the Factory Parts I’ve used during a Shift?
A: Whenever you use a Factory Part, put coal tokens on it. Remember to remove them at the end of the Shift.
Q: Can I change the order of the Load, Push, and Operate steps in a Shift?
A: No, you can’t! You must always load a new conveyor tile first, push it into your Factory, and then operate your Factory Parts. You can’t operate any Parts before pushing the conveyor tile.
Q: Can I use a Factory Part and the Factory Part directly opposite it in the same Shift?
Question: Can I operate the Factory Parts in any order I choose during a Shift?
Answer: Yes, you can operate any of your Parts in any order you choose during a Shift, as long as you have enough coal.
Question: How can I get more coal?
Answer: You can receive coal at the start of each day or when you recruit new Employees. Additionally, you can trade chocolates in your store room for coal at any time. There are no other ways to acquire more coal.
Question: Can I cover up the Chute on my Factory board with another Part?
Answer: Yes, you can cover up the Chute with another Part, but doing so means you won’t be able to use the Chute for the rest of the game. Once you cover up or replace a Factory Part, you cannot change your decision later on.
Question: How many new Factory Parts and Employees do I receive each day?
Q: How do I get new Factory Parts and Employees?
A: Well, when you’re playing the game, you have the chance to acquire new Factory Parts and Employees. You can either choose a packet that contains Parts or Employees. But remember, if you go for a packet, you must pick one Part or Employee that you want to keep and discard the rest.
Q: How should I arrange the packets of Factory Parts and Employees based on the number of players?
A: It’s pretty straightforward. At the beginning of each day, you need to create the display of Parts and Employees. Here’s how you should do it: draw 5 new Parts from the top of the Parts deck, and pick 1 Employee from the top of each of the five different Employee decks.
You need to make sure that the display contains the right number of packets for each player. Let’s say you’re playing with 3 players. In that case, you should have a total of 6 packets: 3 packets of Parts (containing 2 Parts each) and 3 packets of Employees (containing 2 Employees each).
Q: Why do Employees have Department Store names on them?
A: When you recruit an Employee, they become associated with one of the five Department Stores. This means that throughout the day, you can only fulfill orders from the specific Department Store that is named on the Employee you recruited at the beginning of the day.
Q: When can I take the Gift, Benefit, or Action of my Employee?
A: If an Employee offers you a Gift, you should take it right away. If you receive a Benefit, you automatically receive the bonus each time you do what the card instructs during the day. If you gain an Action, you have the option to take that action at any time during the day, but only once (unless otherwise stated on the card).
Q: Can I save the Gift, Benefit, or Action of my Employee for a later day?
Q: Can I keep the same Employee throughout the day?
A: Nope! Every day, you get a fresh Employee to start off with. At the end of the day, regardless of whether you utilized their talents or not, that Employee vanishes into thin air. Poof!
Q: Do I have to use the special abilities of my Employee?
A: Nah, you’re not obligated to make use of your Employee’s skills if you don’t feel like it. It’s totally up to you!
