Once you’ve found all 24 Locations multiple times in one game, it’s time to step up your game and try the expert rules. These rules will add a new layer of strategy and excitement to your gameplay.

Use Your Abilities

When you successfully make a connection on your turn, you have the opportunity to activate the ability of the animal on the Location you just revealed. Keep in mind that you can only activate the ability if you successfully make a connection.

Let’s say Lucas reveals a Location with a crab. Since he successfully made a connection, he can now use the ability of the crab.

The Penguin Ability

The penguin ability allows you to secretly look at any unrevealed Location without showing anyone and then put it back in its place. This ability can give you a valuable advantage in the game.

Guess what? Lucas just pulled off an amazing move! He revealed a penguin, gaining a secret advantage over everyone else. Now he can strategize better for the next rounds. How cool is that?

But wait, there’s more!

Lucas also has an octopus up his sleeve. With this special power, he can swap the octopus with any Location adjacent to it, either horizontally or vertically (no diagonal moves here). What’s even more interesting is that it doesn’t matter if the Location is hidden or already revealed. But here’s the kicker – when Lucas uses the octopus, he has to rearrange the positions of the Locations on the island. Talk about a game-changer!

So, I did it! I just uncovered an octopus, and now I get to switch its spot with one of the Locations nearby. How cool is that?

Oh, Look! A Walrus!

Now, pay attention. You can choose any Location you want to keep a secret. No one else will be able to uncover that spot next. Just remember, though, don’t use this power if there’s only one card left to reveal.

So, here’s the deal: I just witnessed Marcel perform a mind-boggling trick. He managed to reveal a walrus with impressive finesse. The thing is, he’s being a bit sneaky about it. He knows exactly where the walrus is hidden, and he’s not letting Lucas choose that same card. Sneaky, right? Poor Lucas now has to rely on his luck to find a connection in one of the other hidden spots.

Now, here comes the tricky part:

If, by some stroke of luck, Lucas manages to reveal a crab, things get even more interesting. He gets to take an extra turn right away! But wait, it doesn’t end there. If he happens to reveal another crab in that extra turn, he gets another chance to play! This can go on and on, with Lucas taking additional turns for each crab he unveils.

Discovering a crab in the game can either be a fortunate find or a troublesome obstacle. But I’ve figured out how to turn it into an advantage and use it strategically. Let me show you how Amanda uses the crab to uncover the hidden treasure and gain an edge over her competitors.

Once Lucas has successfully revealed a turtle, it’s your turn to keep the game going.
