Welcome to the World of Between Two Cities Buildings!
Have you ever wondered about the incredible structures that shape our cities? From towering skyscrapers to historic landmarks, buildings are an integral part of any urban landscape. In this article, I’ll guide you through the importance of these architectural wonders and the role they play in our lives.
When I look around a city, I’m amazed by the variety of buildings I see. Each structure tells a unique story and contributes to the character of the place. From grand museums that preserve our history and culture to bustling markets that showcase local artisans, every building has its own tale to tell.
Let me ask you a question: have you ever walked past a striking piece of architecture and felt a sense of wonder or inspiration? I certainly have! Buildings have the power to captivate us, to ignite our imagination, and to spark our creativity. With their bold designs or timeless elegance, they challenge us to dream big and think differently.
Buildings are not just about aesthetic appeal; they serve a practical purpose too. They provide us with shelter, workspaces, and places to gather. They are the backdrops to our daily lives. From the cozy homes where we build memories with our loved ones to the bustling offices where ideas come to life, buildings create spaces for us to live, work, and play.
But it’s not just about the individual buildings themselves; it’s also about the relationships they form. In our fast-paced world, it’s vital that we create spaces that foster connection and collaboration. Some buildings, like libraries or community centers, are designed specifically to bring people together. They become the beating heart of a neighborhood, providing a common ground for people from all walks of life to meet, interact, and share experiences.
On the other hand, certain buildings stand as iconic symbols of progress and achievement. Skyscrapers piercing the sky, bridges spanning great rivers, or stadiums that host momentous events – these structures embody our collective ambition and drive. They remind us of what we can achieve when we come together and strive for greatness.
There’s also the aspect of sustainability that we must take into account. Buildings account for a significant portion of our energy consumption and carbon emissions. That’s why architects and designers are increasingly focusing on creating environmentally-friendly structures that minimize our impact on the planet. Green buildings, with features like solar panels or rainwater harvesting systems, are becoming more common as we strive for a more sustainable future.
So, the next time you find yourself surrounded by buildings, take a moment to appreciate their significance. Whether it’s a grand cathedral or a humble dwelling, each structure plays a part in shaping the places we call home. Buildings inspire us, connect us, and remind us of our capacity for greatness. Let’s continue to build a world that reflects our dreams and aspirations.
When you connect shops in a straight line, either horizontally or vertically, you earn points. The number of points depends on the number of connected shop tiles: 2 points for one shop tile, 5 points for two connected shop tiles, 10 points for three connected shop tiles in a straight line, or 16 points for four connected shop tiles in a straight line.
However, if the lines of shops cross, forming an L, T, or + shape, each shop tile can only be counted for one set of connected shops.
Remember to score each set of connected shops separately. Let’s take a look at the example on the right: the row of four connected shops scores 16 points, the single shop scores 2 points, and the column of two connected shops scores 5 points, giving us a total of 23 points.

When you’re in a shopping district, it’s like being in a treasure trove of stores, with every item you could possibly want right at your fingertips.
Factory Buildings
(16 buildings + 8 duplex)
A tile in the factory is worth 4, 3, or 2 points, depending on what the majority decides.
In each city, the number of factory tiles determines their score. If a city has the most factory tiles, each tile is worth 4 points. If a city has the second most, each tile is worth 3 points. For all other cities, each tile is worth 2 points.
For example, Cities A and B both have five factories, so each factory tile in these cities is worth 4 points. City C has three factories, so each factory tile is worth 3 points. City D has two factories, City E has one factory, and City F has zero factories. In these cities, each factory tile is worth 2 points.
The cities that are most industrialized are recognized for their work and attract more industrial development.
Now let’s talk about taverns.
There are a total of 20 buildings and 8 duplexes, with 7 of each type available.
When it comes to scoring sets of taverns, the value is determined by the numbers 1, 4, 9, and 17.
Remember, the more taverns you have in a set, the higher the score.
Let me tell you about taverns. There are four types, and each one has a symbol inside a red diamond. It’s cool because you can earn points based on how many different types of taverns you have in a city.
If you have just one tavern in a city, you get 1 point. But if you have two different taverns, you score 4 points. And if you’re lucky enough to have three different taverns, that’s worth 9 points. And listen to this, if you manage to have all four different taverns in a city, you get a whopping 17 points! It doesn’t matter where they are or if they’re next to each other, the points still count!
Now here’s the thing, you can have more than one tavern of each type in a city. And guess what? You score each set of taverns separately. So if you have one music, two drink, and two food taverns in a city, you can earn 13 points. That’s because the first set of music, drink, and food taverns is worth 9 points, and the second set of drink and food taverns adds 4 points to your total.
Yeah, residents like to visit different taverns for different things. Some go for the food, others for the drink, some for the music, and some just want a comfy bed. It’s a fun way for them to enjoy their city!
Now let’s talk about offices.
There are actually 20 buildings and 8 duplex offices. They may not seem as exciting as taverns, but they play an important role in the city too.
A set is a collection of items that have specific values assigned to them. In this context, each set has a different value: 1, 3, 6, 10, 15, or 21. On the other hand, a tile is a single item that has a value of +1 if it is located next to at least one tavern.
When you have office tiles in a city, they earn you points. One office tile is worth 1 point, and if you have two office tiles, you get 3 points. The more office tiles you have, the more points you earn. For three tiles, you get 6 points; for four tiles, you get 10 points; for five tiles, you get 15 points; and for six tiles, you get 21 points.
But what happens if you have more than six office tiles in a city? Well, if you have seven tiles, the scoring starts over again, but this time you only get 1 point for the first tile in the new set. So, if you have seven tiles in total, you’ll get a total of 22 points for all your offices.
Now, here’s an interesting twist. If your office tile is next to a tavern, it gets a bonus point. Each office can only get 1 bonus point, even if it’s next to multiple taverns. So, even if you have four taverns next to one office, that office will still only get 1 bonus point.
So, let’s say you have one office tile next to a tavern. That office will get a total of 2 points (1 point + 1 bonus point). But even if you have four taverns next to that office, it will still only get 2 points. The bonus point doesn’t stack in this case.
Have you ever noticed how one thing leads to another? It’s like a never-ending cycle. When I need a professional service, like an attorney or a doctor, I end up creating a demand for more professional services. It’s funny how that works, isn’t it?
Let’s Talk About Parks
(16 Buildings + 8 Duplex)
Did you know that a group of connected parks is incredibly valuable? It’s like a treasure trove. These parks, when they come together, have the power to bring immense joy and excitement to our lives.
In the game, parks are grouped together, and the number of points they are worth depends on how they are connected. If a park is not connected to any other parks, it is worth 2 points. If there are two parks connected together, they are worth 8 points. Three connected parks are worth 12 points. And for every additional park added after the third, the score increases by 1.
In your city, you can have multiple groups of unconnected parks. Each group is scored separately.
To be considered part of a connected group, a park must share a border with another park. The parks in the group do not have to be in a straight line.
Here are some examples: In a city with four separate park tiles, the total score for the parks would be 8 points (2 points for each park). If there are three adjacent parks and one separate park, the total score would be 14 points. And if there are four adjacent parks, the total score would be 13 points. If you have two separate groups of two parks each, the total score would be 8 points for each group, for a combined total of 16 points.

Did you know that having large parks distributed throughout the city center allows more people to enjoy them? It’s true! Not only do these parks provide recreational spaces for citizens, but they also contribute to the overall beauty and liveliness of the city.
Houses
(20 Buildings + 8 Duplex)
Now, here’s an interesting fact: a tile with a house is considered to be worth one point for every other building type (except houses) in the city. However, if that tile happens to be next to a factory, its worth drops down to just one point.
Guess what? Houses in the city can earn you points, and not just any points, but points based on how many other types of buildings are in the city. It’s like a game within a game!
Let me break it down for you. Each house tile gives you 1 point for each different building type (except houses) in the city. So if there’s only one other building type, each house is worth 1 point. But if there are five different types of buildings, each house is worth a whopping 5 points! Pretty cool, right?
Now here’s where it gets interesting. If a house tile is right next to a factory tile, it’s not as attractive for people to live there. So instead of earning points based on the other building types, that house tile only scores 1 point. Makes sense, because who wants to live right next to a factory?
Basically, people like living in areas where there are lots of different services and job opportunities, but they don’t want to be too close to a factory. It’s all about finding that right balance!
