Pass the Pigs: Pig Party Edition Rules
Hey there! Let’s dive into the rules of Pass the Pigs: Pig Party Edition. It’s an exciting game where you get to toss cute little pig dice and score points based on how they land. But first, let’s talk about the setup.
To begin, grab the two adorable pig dice. Each one has different markings on them. Get your scorecards ready too. Oh, and don’t forget to have some good ol’ fashioned fun!
Alright, now it’s time to play. When it’s my turn, I’ll throw the pig dice onto the table. The way they land determines how many points I get. Isn’t that amazing?
The pigs can land in different positions:
Razorback: If a pig ends up on its back, I earn 5 points. What a lucky roll! Trotter: When a pig lands on its side with one trotter touching the table, I get 5 points as well. Woohoo! Sider: If a pig is resting on its side with both trotters up, it’s called a Sider. And guess what? That gets me a whopping 10 points! Leaning Jowler: This one is a bit tricky. When a pig leans on its snout, leaning towards its left or right, it’s called a Leaning Jowler. And it awards me 15 points! Incredible, right? Snouter: If a pig rests on its snout, giving it a snouter, I score 20 points. Amazing! Pig Out: Now, listen closely because here’s where things can get a little dicey. If I roll and no pigs land on any of the above positions, it’s called a Pig Out. I lose all the points I’ve earned during that turn. Oops! Makin’ Bacon: Finally, there’s the Makin’ Bacon move. If both pigs land on any combination of Razorback, Trotter, Sider, Leaning Jowler, or Snouter, I earn a massive 60 points! Talk about a turning point in the game!
The game continues with each player taking turns, rolling the pigs and keeping track of their scores. The first player to reach or exceed 100 points screams, “I’m the Pig Master!” and wins the game. How exciting is that?
So, grab your pals, and let’s get this pig party started. Remember, it’s all about aiming, tossing, and having a blast with Pass the Pigs: Pig Party Edition!

Hey there! Hugh and Jack Pigfellow are throwing a party, and they’ve invited all of their piggy pals to join in on the fun. What’s even better news? You get to join the party too!
In this exciting new version of Pass The Pigs, you’ll have not one, but two piggy friends to play with. And guess what? Your opponents will have their own pairs of pigs too!
What’s Inside the Box?
- There are eight pig dice in four different colors: yellow, green, purple, and blue.
- You’ll find a deck of 30 cards, including Roll, Bonus, and Point cards.
- A zippered carrying case is included for easy transportation.
- Illustrated rules are provided to help you get started.
What’s the Goal?
Your objective is to be the first player to reach 100 points. You can earn points by rolling the dice and matching the roll card that is currently in play, beating all other players to it.
How to Set Up the Game

Here’s what you need to do to get started:
- First, get all the cards with pictures of pigs that show different moves on them. Mix them up and put them face down in the middle of the table. This makes the Roll deck.
- Next, put away the Bonus Roll Scoring and Point cards. We won’t need them right now.
- Every player needs two pigs of the same color to play the game. Make sure everyone has their own pair.
- Now, we need to pick who goes first. You can decide together or use another way to figure it out.
Now let’s start playing!

Rolling: First, I turn over the top card in the Roll deck. We all need to pay attention to the pig combo shown on the card. Then, I throw my pigs, hoping to get them to land in the same position as the pigs pictured on the card.
If I’m lucky enough to roll the exact combo shown, I get to collect the card and score the points it’s worth.
But let’s be honest, it’s not very likely to happen on my first roll. If it doesn’t, I just leave my pigs on the table and it’s the next player’s turn. Each player takes their turn rolling their pigs, hoping to match the pigs shown on the Roll card.
If none of us have matched the roll after one round, I get to roll again as the first player. We keep taking turns until one of us finally matches the roll pictured.
Important: When you play the game, make sure to leave one of your pigs on the table if its pose matches the roll. From then on, you only roll the pig that doesn’t match. Keep in mind that there are a few cards that require only one pig to score. If you’re the first to roll that pig, you win the card.
The “Up for Grabs” Rule for Leaning Jowler
The Leaning Jowler is a tricky pig to roll. If, after its card is played, all players take turns and no one rolls it, the next card in the deck is placed on top of it. Then, whoever wins the new card also receives the Leaning Jowler card!
Rolling a Pig Out

When a player throws a Pig Out, which is when both of their pigs land as “siders” (one pig showing a spot, one pig not), they are out for the rest of that round. That means they cannot reroll and try to win the card currently in play.
What happens when you roll an Oinker?
If, at any time, a player rolls an Oinker, which is when two pigs touch each other, they have to give up one of their Roll or Point cards of their choice. This card is then put at the bottom of its deck. If a player doesn’t have any cards to give up, they are simply out until the next Roll card comes into play.

Note: If, by chance, one player’s pig touches or causes another player’s pig to move, it’s considered an “Oinker.” If this happens, the player who rolled the pig loses a Roll or Point card of their choice (if they have any).
The other player’s pig is returned to its original position (if it moved).
Scoring
When a player’s pigs match the roll shown on the card, they keep the Roll card and place it beside them. The player’s score is the sum of the points displayed on all the Roll and Bonus cards they earn throughout the game.
Bonus Roll and Bonus Scoring
If you manage to match the target roll on your first try, you can claim the card and earn a BONUS ROLL. Here’s what you need to do:
When I play this game, I round up all eight pigs, give them a good shake, and let them go flying! Then, I compare my roll to the different combinations listed on the Bonus Roll Scoring card. If I’m lucky, I might roll some pigs that match one or more of the bonus rolls on the card. If that happens, I get to earn a point card that will add to my score.
But here’s the catch: I can only choose one bonus point card, even if I rolled more than one matching bonus. So, I’ll have to pick the bonus roll that gives me the most points. It’s all about strategy!
There’s another thing I need to keep in mind. Point cards are limited! If there aren’t any point cards left of the highest value that I qualify for, I’ll have to settle for a lower-valued card that matches my roll. And if there are no point cards left that I can qualify for, well, tough luck for me. I won’t get any card at all.
During a bonus roll, Pig Outs or Oinkers don’t matter. They have no effect on my score and don’t count against me. So I can focus on trying to get the best bonus roll possible.
And that’s how you play the game! It’s a mix of luck and strategy, and it can be really exciting. So if you enjoy games that keep you on your toes, you’ll definitely love this one. Give it a try and see how many points you can score!
Now, let’s talk about how the game ends.
