Lord of the fries – learn how to play with

By: Dennis B. B. Taylor

Welcome to Lord of the Fries!

Lord of the Fries is a thrilling card game that revolves around zombies. It’s designed for 3 to 8 players, including you! The main objective of the game is to collect as many points as possible before it ends. You achieve this by placing orders using cards from your hand.

Getting Started

To begin, you and your fellow players need to decide on the menu and the number of rounds you want to play. Usually, people opt for four rounds, but feel free to adjust the duration to your liking. The menu provides instructions on which cards to include in the deck based on the number of players.

Once you’ve assembled the deck, a random player becomes the dealer. This person shuffles the cards and deals them to each player. Some players may end up with more cards than others, but don’t worry, it’s all part of the game.

Time to Play

The dealer kicks off the game by initiating the first order. They can either call out the order or roll dice to determine it.

When you call, you have the freedom to choose any item from the regular menu (but not any special items that may be available). If you can’t make a choice, you pass the turn to the person on your left.

If you decide to roll the dice instead, the outcome will determine the item you make. The green dice represents the menu section, while the black dice corresponds to the specific item in that section. If you roll the dice and can’t make the order, you pass the turn to the person who rolled the dice.

Once an order is called, it’s game on! We all take turns trying to make the order. If a player can’t make it, they pass their card to the person who made the order and it’s their turn now. If the order goes around without being made, the person left of the dealer can try to make the order with one less item. This continues until someone makes the item or the order can be made with zero items. If that happens, the order is dropped and no one scores.

When a player completes an order, they show the cards they used in front of them so everyone can see. Then they put those cards in a score pile.

The player who makes the order becomes the leader and gets to decide whether to roll or call an order, just like before. From the second order onwards, we can use the sand timer if we all agree.

When I play or pass the last card from my hand, the round immediately ends. You do the same. We total our scores by adding up all the completed orders, which are the cards we put in front of us to score points. Then, we subtract any cards that are still in our hands. We keep track of scores throughout multiple rounds.

THE END

The game comes to a close after we finish four rounds (or however many we decided on at the beginning). The person with the highest score is the winner.
