Welcome to GoodCritters!
So, we just pulled off a massive heist and now it’s time to split the loot. You’d think the Boss would divide everything evenly, right? Well, think again. The Boss actually has the power to do whatever they want, as long as they can hold on to their position. This gang is pretty wild and they won’t tolerate any favorites.
If you find yourself in the role of the Boss, your goal is to stay in charge, distribute the loot, and, of course, make sure to keep some for yourself! But be careful, if the gang votes you out, you lose all control. It’s important to play fair, but remember, in the end, it’s every man for himself! The player who ends up with the most loot is the ultimate winner!
Game Setup
Let’s get things set up! First, each player needs to choose an animal to represent them throughout the game. Once the animal is chosen, gather the corresponding game pieces, which include five action cards and one threat marker. Each player will start with four loot cards in their stash.
First, I’ll shuffle the remaining loot cards and create a facedown pile, which will be the loot pile. Next, I’ll divide the cards equally among the players. To add some excitement, I’ll randomly shuffle in The Fuzz! Card. After that, I’ll stack the divided parts to form a single pile.
As the owner of the game, I will take on the role of the first Boss and grab the Boss marker.
Let the Game Begin!
Now, let’s talk about how the gameplay works. There are four steps in each round. The first step is all about showing off the loot. As the Boss, I’ll reveal cards from the loot pile. The number of cards I reveal should be equal to the number of players plus two. These cards will be placed face up in the center of the playing area for everyone to see.
First things first, let’s talk about what happens after we’ve gathered all the loot. It’s time to distribute it, but here’s the catch – it’s the Boss who gets to decide how it’s divided among the players. And guess what? They don’t have to make it fair and ensure that everyone gets a share. Once the Boss has made their decisions, we move on to the next step.
Now comes the part where we all choose our actions. It’s a simultaneous process, which means that every player does this at the same time. Here’s where things can really get interesting – we can make deals, threats, and even give ultimatums. It all comes down to the action cards we have in front of us. Once we’ve made our choices and placed our action card in front of us, there’s no going back. We can’t change our minds.
Oh, by the way, if we decide to make a threat against another player, we can place a threat marker in front of them. That means we’re signaling our intention to steal loot from that player using a rob card. But here’s the twist – threats can also be used as bluffs to negotiate a deal with someone. So it’s not always about stealing, it’s about playing smart and using our wits.
Now, it’s time to finish the game by resolving actions. We all get a turn, starting with the Boss and going around the table in a clockwise direction. When an action card is revealed, it’s up to you to complete the action!
If you reveal a Vote Yes card, it means you’re voting in favor of the current Boss and their proposed distribution of loot. If there are at least as many “Yes” votes as “No” votes, then the proposal passes. On the other hand, if there are more “No” votes, the Boss is no longer the Boss.
All the loot that’s up for grabs is placed in the middle of the table until the next Boss gets to decide how it’s distributed. The player sitting next to the Boss in a clockwise direction becomes the new Boss, and a new round begins.
To start the next round, everyone takes back their action cards and threat markers. If there’s a new Boss, we start at Step 2. But if the previous Boss stayed in power, we start at Step 1.
END OF THE GAME
The game comes to an end when The Fuzz! Card is revealed. This happens while drawing cards from the Draw Pile. Each player adds up the value of the loot they’ve collected in their stash! The player with the most valuable loot is the winner of the game!
