Do You Love History? Then You’ll Love Chronology!
Hey there, history buffs! If you can’t get enough of the past, then Chronology is the game for you. It’s all about putting your history skills to the test as you create a timeline using the cards you’re dealt. The challenge? You have to place the cards in the correct order to earn points. Don’t worry, though – if you mess up, your opponent gets a shot at setting things right. Who will prove to be the ultimate history expert? It’s time to find out!
Getting Started
Alright, let’s kick things off with the setup. Take those cards out of the box and give them a good shuffle. Once shuffled, place them face down in the center of the playing area. You’ll each need a card tray to collect your event cards. To decide who goes first, each player will draw a card and read it aloud. This card will mark the starting point of your timeline. Now you’re ready to dive into the past!
When we all have a card in our card tray, it’s game time!
Let’s Play
The first player is chosen randomly. They’ll pick a card from the draw pile and read it out loud to everyone, making sure not to reveal the date. The player to their left then decides if the event happened before or after the card in their tray. If they’re right, they get to keep the card.
Once someone wins a card, they place it in the correct spot on their tray. On their next turn, they decide where that card fits in their timeline. We can check each other’s trays, but we can’t touch them.
When I place a card, I also need to announce the dates on the card out loud to the other player. If I make a mistake, the player on my left gets a chance to take the card by choosing the correct position. We keep playing until someone gets it right and steals the card, or nobody guesses correctly. Then it’s the next player’s turn.
END OF GAME
The game ends when a player collects five cards in the right order on their card tray. If I have five cards in the correct order, I win the game!
