Setting up the Game

Placing the Daikaiju

When you roll the die and find that two daikaiju end up in the same square, don’t worry! Simply roll the die again and move the second daikaiju to another square. And here’s an extra twist: before placing the daikaiju, spin it around randomly and reveal its face. It adds an element of surprise and keeps the game exciting!

Playing the Game

The oldest player goes first, and then the turns continue in a clockwise direction. The initial player places their ship on any of the starting points (designated by short white marks) on the outer edge of the game board. The process repeats until each player has chosen a starting point and placed their ship on it.

This number can be found next to the curved arrow in the corner. If two daikaiju on the board have the same rotation number, you should move the daikaiju with the gold arrow first.

  • Roll a dice to determine the movement of the daikaiju. If you roll a number between 1 and 5, the daikaiju moves or rotates as indicated by the directional arrows on each daikaiju tile.
  • If you roll a 6, the daikaiju does not move. Instead, a new daikaiju tile is placed following the Placing the Daikaiju rules during the game setup.

If a big monster called a daikaiju moves next to my ship, my ship gets destroyed and I’m out of the game. The daikaiju is so powerful that it even stops me from placing a wake tile. But if there’s another ship on the same side of the wake tile, it might not get destroyed. The captain of that ship can try to avoid the daikaiju’s attack by moving their ship before it’s their turn.
