When you land on a space or draw a story card, follow the instructions and embark on an incredible real-life adventure. The Extreme Story cards feature events submitted by real people, so keep an eye out for the name and country on each card.

As you navigate the track, you’ll earn or lose money based on your actions. Choose a unique and unconventional home and career. Tie the knot, have a bunch of little ones to boost your earnings at the end of the game. Work hard, play hard, and make your life truly count.

Game Setup

1. Take the LIFE tokens and place them facedown on the Winners’ Podium spaces. The number of LIFE tokens needed for each space is indicated.
2. Place a facedown land token on each land space without peeking at the values.
3. First, shuffle the Story, Extreme Story, House, Career, and College Career cards separately and place them facedown in piles near the board.
4. Next, choose someone to be the banker. At the beginning of the game, no one has any money, but the banker will handle bank loans, promotions, and any money transactions.
5. Banker, distribute a reminder card, a car, a house stand, and a lottery token of the same color to each player, including yourself. Leave the golden lottery token near the board.

At the start of the game, you don’t have any money. If you need to spend money before earning any, you can get a bank loan!

Getting Ready to Play

Before We Begin

First, let’s grab some pegs – pink for girls and blue for boys. That’ll be our little cars as we zoom through the game! Now, we need to decide if we want to start our journey at the Career or College start space. It doesn’t matter how many players there are, we can all start at either spot.

Choosing College

Hey, College Students! Before we hit the road, we need some cash. Go ask the banker for a $20K loan. They’ll give it to you, and you’ll place it right in front of you. This will be your money throughout the game.

• Once you reach the Diploma space, you must make a decision and choose your career.
• If you have enough money, you can pay off your bank loan on any turn.

Starting Your Career

Before we begin, career starters, you need to pick your career.

Take the career cards and shuffle them facedown. Now, pick any 3 cards. Take a good look at them and choose the one you like the most. Place your chosen card face up in front of you and put the others back in the pile.

The player with the most daring hairdo will start the game. From there, the game will continue to the left.

1. Spin the spinner and move your game piece that many spaces in the direction of the arrows. Remember, you can land on the same space as other players.
2. When you land on a space, follow the instructions provided there. If you’re unsure of what to do, refer to the Reference section for further details on that particular space.

If you land on a space without any instructions, ask the player sitting to your left to read you a story card. They can choose either a red story card or a black one, depending on the color the spinner stopped on. Whatever the card says, that’s what you’ll do.

If you’re on the extreme track when you draw a card, make sure to take an Extreme Story card.

Once you’re finished with the card, your turn is over.

And don’t worry if you need to pay for something but you don’t have enough cash – you can always take out a bank loan.

Now, let’s talk about some important things you need to know.

First, let’s go over the green spaces.

When you come across a green space on the board, you need to do what it tells you to do. For example, on PAY DAY, you collect your salary from the banker.

Life Tokens

When you come across a space with a LIFE symbol on it (or an Extreme LIFE symbol if you’re on the black extreme track), you get to take a special token. Take the token and place it in front of you without looking at the value on the front. Keep it face-down.

Red Stop Spaces

When I come across a red STOP sign, I immediately hit the brakes and halt all my movements. It doesn’t matter if I still have some moves left. The red sign demands my attention and obedience. I need to follow the instructions on the space before I can continue spinning and moving forward on my journey. Let me give you an example: If the space tells me to get my diploma, I must complete that task before I can continue playing the game. The red STOP spaces are like checkpoints that force me to pause and take action before proceeding.

Hey there, college students! I want to talk to you about an important space on the game board called the DIPLOMA space.

Uh-oh, Game Over!

Once two players reach the end of the track and retire, it’s time to head straight to the End of the Game. Exciting, right?

Bank Loans and You

Taking Loans

Hey there! Let’s talk about loans and how they can help us get things done before we have the money. It’s like asking the bank to lend us some money, and we promise to pay it back later.

When you need to buy something but don’t have the money yet, you can take out a bank loan. It’s like asking the bank to give you the money and you will pay it back when you can.

Example: So, you want to buy a house that costs $120,000, but you only have $90,000. Don’t worry, I’ll show you how to make it work.

First things first – let’s talk about loans. You can take two loans from the bank, each worth $20,000. That’s a total of $40,000 that you can use towards the price of your house. Now, all you need to do is pay the difference ($80,000) to the bank.

Once you do all that, you’ll have $10,000 left. If you have any extra money later, you can use it to pay off the loans.

Paying Back Loans

If you want to pay back the loans, you need to have enough money to cover the loan amount and also 50% interest, just in case you have to pay it. That’s important.

When you’re ready to pay off some loans, let the banker know how many you want to pay. Then, give the spinner a spin and see what happens.

• If the spinner lands on black: You only need to pay the bank the loan amount. Simple and straightforward.
• If the spinner lands on red: Uh-oh! You’ll have to pay the bank the loan amount plus 50% interest. Ouch! Be prepared for that!

Example: Picture this: You borrow $100K from the bank. If you spin the black wheel, you still owe $100K. But if you spin the red wheel, you owe $100K plus an additional $50K, making it a total of $150K. Ouch!

Now, let me break it down for you. You can only consider repaying the loan if you have at least $150K in your personal funds. It’s like a mini financial obstacle course.

Lottery

Now, here’s the best part – whatever salary you receive from this trade, you get to keep it for the rest of the game! Unless of course, someone decides to trade with you again, but let’s not worry about that for now.

A Risky Move

Oh no, it seems like you’ve lost your house! Don’t worry, it’s a part of the game. Just hand over your house card and token to the banker and leave the land token where it is.

Now let me tell you about the Red Stop Spaces. These spaces are important, so pay attention! When you land on a Red Stop Space, you have to stop, no matter how many moves you have left. Make sure to carefully read and follow the instructions written on that space. After that, give the spinner a spin again and move to the next space according to the number you land on. Remember to follow the new instructions too!

Oh, and I almost forgot! There’s a special space called the Diploma. Keep an eye out for it!

But hold on – even if you have some moves left, you’ll need to spin again. This time, we’ll multiply your score by 10 to get your percentage on the exam:

Thinking about Buying a House?

1. If you want to stop, even if you still have moves left, then this is the right place to do so.
2. If you already own a house, it’s time to sell it. Your card has two sale prices. Spin the spinner and follow these steps:
   • Spin the black: sell for the boom price.
   • Spin the red: sell for the recession price.
3. After selling your old house, it’s time to buy a new one. Don’t forget to end your turn after completing this step (find more information in the Buy a House section above).

Hospital

College Careers

Hey there! When you graduate, you’ll have a choice of these for your diploma. Pretty cool, right?

Or, you can take another route and try to get one by landing on Job Swap and swiping it from a fellow player who went to college. Sneaky, huh?

Game over

When I reach the end of the path, I proudly park my car on top of the winners’ podium, right on the first space. It’s an exhilarating moment, knowing that I’ve made it!

Then, I watch as the second player zooms past and parks their car on the second spot. That’s when things get interesting. All the other players have to scramble and race to the end of the track. It’s a mad dash for the nearest position, as each player vies for their place on the podium. The one closest to the end takes third place, followed by the next, and so on.

Now, it’s time to tally up all my winnings. I follow these steps to determine the total value of everything I’ve acquired:

1. I collect all the LIFE tokens from the space I’m on and put them in front of me, making sure they’re faceup so I can see them.
2. Next, I check if I have any kids. For each child, I take $50K from the bank. I need to remember to count the ones I left in Daycare!

If you own a house, here’s what you need to do: sell it back to the bank. Spin the wheel to find out how much it’s worth, then take that amount from the bank. Don’t forget to grab the land token from the spot where your house used to be and place it faceup in front of you.

Now, let’s sort out your debts. Start by flipping over any remaining LIFE and Extreme LIFE tokens you have. Add up their values and combine that with the value of your land token. This will give you a total token value.

Next, let’s tackle those loans. Spin the wheel to find out what you owe for each loan, then pay the bank accordingly. Once you’re done with your debts, take whatever cash you have left and add it to your token total.
