Objective of the Game
So, what’s the purpose of this game? The goal is simple: stay focused and complete a task while being bombarded with distractions. Sounds fun, right? The objective is to see how well you can concentrate and accomplish a task despite the chaos around you.
Set Up and Materials
First things first, let’s gather all the necessary supplies. You will need a quiet room, a timer, and your chosen task. Make sure the task is something that requires concentration, like reading a book, solving math problems, or writing a short story. Got everything? Great! Let’s move on.
Playing the Game
Now that we’re all set up, here’s how the game works:
- Choose a task: Decide on the task you want to tackle. It could be anything that demands your focus and attention.
- Set a timer: Determine the amount of time you want to allocate for this challenge. Start with a reasonable duration, like 10 or 15 minutes.
- Begin the game: Start the timer and begin working on your chosen task.
- Distractions incoming: Here’s the fun part. Throughout the game, you’ll be bombarded with various distractions. These distractions can come in the form of noise, interruptions, or even tempting offers to do something else.
- Stay focused: Your objective is to stay focused on your task and resist the temptations of these distractions. Concentrate on your work and refuse to let anything divert your attention.
- Complete the task: The game is over when the timer goes off. Take a look at your progress and see how well you did. Did you manage to complete the task despite the distractions?

Components
You’ll need the following to play the game:
- 54 Number Cards
- 50 Distraction Cards
- Instructions
Object of the Game
The goal of the game is to be the first player to get rid of all your cards.
Setup
- Start by shuffling the round deck of Number Cards. Then, deal them face down to each player, making sure not to peek at the cards. The number of cards dealt depends on the number of players:
- For 1 to 3 players, each player gets 12 cards. Any leftover Number Cards are removed from the game.
- For 4 or more players, all 54 Number Cards are divided evenly among the players.
- Each player should keep their Number Cards face down in a neat stack, without looking at them.
- Shuffle the rectangular deck of Distraction Cards and place them in a pile within reach of all players, with the cards facing down.
- Hey there! If you’re ready to have some fun, let’s get started with the Distraction Cards game. You have two options: purple questions or blue questions. Feel free to mix it up and try both colors in different games.
- First, each player flips over their top Number Card. Whoever has the highest card gets to go first. Don’t worry, we’ll shuffle these cards back into the stack to start the game.
- Now, player 1 reveals their top Number Card and places it face-up in the center of the play area. This will be the Number Stack.

Note: If you run out of Distraction Cards during a game, just shuffle the discarded deck and keep using the other colored questions.
Let’s Play the Game

First, I’m going to say the number on the top card of the Number Stack. Then, it’s your turn. Take a card from your deck and put it on top of the Number Stack to cover the card underneath.
Now it’s your turn to say both of the numbers in the stack, starting with the one I just played. Then, it’s the next player’s turn to draw a card and say the numbers in the stack.

Whenever I draw a Number Card that is orange and tells me to “draw a distraction card“, I have to do something fun before reciting the numbers. I’ll grab a card from the Distraction Deck, read it out loud, and either answer the question or complete the task. Once I’m done, I’ll discard the Distraction Card into a separate pile.
If I think another player made a mistake while reciting the numbers in the Number Stack, I can Challenge them. If I do, there are special Challenge Rules we follow.
If I lose a Challenge, I have to take all the cards from the Number Stack and mix them into my own stack of Number Cards. Then, I become the starting player for the next round.
When I manage to get rid of all my Number Cards, everyone else gets to take one more turn. They have a chance to tie with me.
If no one else can get rid of their cards, then the player who has no Number Cards left is the winner! In case of a tie, we have Tie Breaker Rules. Here’s how they work:
1. The tied players have to play a final round to determine the winner.
2. The Number Cards are shuffled and distributed among the tied players.
3. The players then play as usual, reciting the numbers and answering Distraction Questions.
4. When a tied player loses a Challenge, they are eliminated from the round.
5. Keep playing until there is only one player left, and that player becomes the winner!
Now let’s talk about Challenge Rules:
1. A Challenge can be issued by a player right after another player finishes reciting the numbers in the Number Stack.
2. If multiple players call for a Challenge, the player who made the call first becomes the Challenger.
Challenging Memory Skills
When you’re faced with a challenge, it’s important to give it your all. In this game, called Number Stack, you’ll have to put your memory to the test. Are you up for it?
- First, the Challenger will show you a stack of number cards, each with a different number on it. Pay attention and try to remember the sequence of numbers.
- Now comes the tricky part. When a Challenge is issued, you must recite the numbers in the exact same order that you saw them. It’s like a mental juggling act!
- As you’re reciting, the Challenger will turn over the cards one by one for everyone to see. The pressure is on!
- If you manage to remember the sequence correctly, you’ve beaten the Challenge. The Challenger will have to hand over the entire stack of cards and acknowledge your impressive memory skills.
- But if you stumble and make a mistake, you’ll have to accept defeat and take all the cards from the Number Stack. It’s a tough pill to swallow, but it’s all part of the game.
Boosting Mind Power
In our fast-paced world, it’s easy to get distracted and forget things. That’s why it’s important to exercise your mind, just like you exercise your body. By playing games that challenge your memory, you can keep your brain in top shape.
