Taboo: The Game That Will Have You Laughing Out Loud

Have you ever played Taboo? It’s a game that’s just as fun as charades, but with a twist. Instead of acting out clues, players have to guess words without saying certain “taboo” words. It’s a hilarious and challenging game that’s perfect for parties, especially graduation parties!

Getting Started

Let’s set up for the game! First, we need to place the buzzer and the timer in the middle of the playing area, where everyone can reach them. We’ll also need to fill the card holder with cards. After that, we can divide ourselves into two teams. The number of players on each team doesn’t matter, so we can have fun no matter how many of us there are. Once the teams are sorted, we’re all set to begin!

How to Play

Okay, let’s start the game now! The first person to be the Clue-giver will draw a card from the holder and place it on the easel. The word at the top of the card is called the Guess Word, and the other words on the card are the taboo cards. Remember, the Clue-giver can’t say those taboo words while giving clues. It’s time to put our thinking caps on and get ready to have a great time!

When I play the game, I start the timer as soon as I draw the card and begin giving the hints. I can give hints in phrases, single words, or full sentences. You and your teammates will announce any words that you think may be correct. If you guess the word, you can draw another card and try again.

You earn one point for each card that you guess correctly. However, be careful! You might lose a point if you say a taboo word or if you pass on a card. If you lose any points, they go to the other team. The game keeps going like this until everyone on the team gets a turn to be the Clue-Giver.

THE END OF THE GAME

Once everyone has had a turn to be the Clue-giver, the game is over. You will then add up your scores from the scorepad. The person with the most points is the winner!
