What’s in the Box?

When you open the box, you’ll find these exciting components:

• 1 Game board
• 1 cat
• 20 Mice in four colors
• 20 pieces of cheese
• 1 dice

Getting Ready

Before we start playing, let’s set things up:

First, we need to put the game board and the dice in the middle of the table.

Next, we’ll share the mice between the players. If there are two of us, we each get 5 mice in the color we choose. If there are three or four players, we each get 4 mice, and we each choose a different color. All the mice start on the “start” space in the middle of the board.

Lastly, we’ll place the pieces of cheese in the mouse houses. We’ll put the cheese in the right-sized houses – just look for the illustrations to see where each size goes.

In every house, there are four pieces of cheese. The first house has the smallest pieces, the second house has cheese with two slices, the third house has cheese with three slices, and the fourth house has the biggest pieces. The final stop has whole cheeses with six slices.

I put the cat on the cat symbol that matches the number of players. For example, if there are two players, I put the cat on the symbol with a “2” on it. If there are three players, I put the cat on the symbol with a “3,” and so on.

But wait, there’s more! If the dice shows a cat and the number one, you have a special move. You can first move one of your mice one space forward, and then move the cat one space along its route in a clockwise direction.

Once your mouse and the cat have moved, the next player gets to throw the dice. Oh, and by the way, the cat can pass the start even if there are still mice there.

Eventually, as all the mice either find sanctuary in the houses or have successfully reached paradise, the game draws to a close.
