Setup
Alright, let’s get this show on the road! Here’s what you need to do to set up the game:
1. Grab each of the Relics (The Ark, Sankara Stones, and the Holy Grail) and put them on their matching spots on the board.
2. Take the Life Tiles and mix them up into three piles based on their colors. Make sure they’re all facedown.
3. Do the same thing with the Partner Cards. Shuffle them up and make three facedown piles based on their colors.
4. Now, pick a pawn for each player and put it on the Museum Home Space. If you have any extra pawns, just put them back in the box.
5. Give each player a Reference Card to help them out during the game.
6. Take the Adventure Cards and shuffle them up. Then, put them facedown to the side of the game board.
7. Next, grab the Special Event Cards. Shuffle them up too and put them facedown at the bottom of the shuffled Adventure Card deck, just like this.
8. Finally, choose someone to be the Investor. This person will handle all the money going in and out of the Investment Fund. Each player starts with $20,000 – that’s one $10,000 bill and two $5,000 bills.
And there you have it! The game is all set up and ready for some adventurous fun. Good luck, and may the best explorer win!
Listen up! Before we get started, there’s something you need to know.
The Adventure Awaits
As we embark on this exciting game, we’ll be encountering various challenges along the way. But first, let’s take a look at the gamepath. Have you noticed the different colors on the path? Well, pay attention because it’s crucial. When we’re instructed to draw a card, it needs to match the color of the gamepath we’re on.
Raiders of the Lost Ark – (Purple Path)

Welcome to Movie Gamepath! This exciting adventure will lead you on a path filled with surprises and rewards. By taking this journey, I promise you a moderate level of excitement and risk, with plenty of chances to win valuable prizes like money, Life Tiles, and even find trusted Partners to aid you along the way.
Temple of Doom – (Blue)

Welcome to Movie Gamepath! If you choose to travel along this path, you’ll find yourself facing fewer risks and receiving fewer rewards. It’s a trade-off, but it might just be the right choice for you.
The Last Crusade – (Green Path)

Welcome to the Movie Gamepath! Are you ready to embark on an exciting journey? Traveling this path will bring you immense rewards, but it’s important to remember that it also comes with a higher level of risk. But don’t worry, I’ll be here to guide you every step of the way!
Let’s Start at Museum Park – (Gold)

Note: This isn’t a road for movies. You have to travel down this path to reach the Museum Home Space, where you can trade Life Tiles or Relics.
How to Play
Spin the spinner to determine who goes first. The player with the highest spin gets to start the game. The game progresses in a clockwise direction.
On your turn:
Spin the spinner. Then, starting from the Museum Home Space, move the number of spaces that you spun, always following the arrows on the game board.
Where Did You Land?
Note: If you land on a space marked STOP, you must always pause on that space, no matter how many moves you have left.
If there is a Partner or Relic on the space, you must STOP and collect a card or Relic. If the space is empty, keep moving.
The Home Space of the Museum
The Home Space of the Museum is where your adventure starts, but you can return there later in the game if:
- You have a Life Tile that you want to trade in for money, or
- You are moved there by an Adventure card or trap.
Enter or leave any of the three spaces connected to the Museum Home Space through the Museum Path (the gold path). If you enter the Museum Home Space, you must STOP even if you still have moves left.
Empty Space
If you land on a blank space, just draw an Adventure Card and do what it says. Then it’s your turn.
There are 3 Relic Spaces, one on each colored movie game path. When you get to a Relic Space, you have to stop for a bit. If there’s a Relic on that space, grab it and keep it. It’ll be worth money later in the game. This ends your turn, even if you still have moves left. If there’s no Relic, keep on moving.
Now, let’s talk about Partner Spaces.

Hey there! So, there are these 3 Partner Spaces in the game, one on each of the movie game paths. Whenever you get to one of these spaces, you have to stop and take a break. But here’s the exciting part – if there’s a Partner Card available for that space, you gotta stop and grab it.
Now, here’s the catch – even if you still have moves left, your turn ends as soon as you pick up a Partner Card. And don’t forget to show off the awesome Partner you’ve chosen to everyone. But hey, if there’s no Partner Card available, you can keep on moving.
Oh, and remember this important rule: Only draw a Partner Card that matches the color of the game path you’re on. But if you happen to land on a space with no Partner cards left, no worries! Just draw an Adventure Card instead.
Traps
Let’s talk about traps now. There are actually two kinds of traps in the game. First, we have Trap Spaces on the game board – one on each of the three movie game paths. And then, we have Trap Events that can show up in the Adventure Cards.
- You can snag more than one Partner, but you gotta take them one at a time.
- Feel free to collect as many Partners as you want, but keep in mind that their powers don’t stack. They’ve got their own unique abilities.
- Some Partner Cards might have the same name, but they’ve got different superpowers. So, go ahead and gather as many Partner Cards with the same name as you like!
- If the game tells you to ditch a Partner Card, just place it color side up at the bottom of its starting pile. And if there’s no pile, start a new one.
- It’s important to always show off your Partner Cards to the other players. No secrets here!
If you land on a Trap game board space, you need to stop immediately, even if you have moves left. Don’t draw any cards. Instead, spin the spinner. If you spin a 6 or higher, you have survived the trap and your turn is over. But if you spin lower than a 6, then you need to follow these steps.
If you draw a card with a TRAP event on it, you must spin.
If you spin the number or higher, nothing happens and your turn ends.
But if you spin lower than the number, then you need to perform one of the following tasks, in order, if possible:
1. If you have a partner, remove one by placing it on the bottom of its starting pile. If there are no piles left, then start a new pile.
OR
OR
OR
Note: If you begin your turn on a Trap Space, you don’t have to try to escape again. Spin and move as usual.
Hey there! Need a hand escaping a tricky situation? Remember to rely on your partner! They can help you turn the tide and break free from that trap.
The Cards/Life Tiles
Life Tiles
When playing the game, an Adventure Card might instruct you to collect a Life Tile or two. These Life Tiles are color-coded to match the different paths in the game. (Just a heads up: there aren’t any Life Tiles on the dazzling gold Museum path).
Choose a tile from the game path that matches its color. Life Tiles have a monetary value, so the more you amass, the better off you’ll be!
If you’re told to pick up a Life Tile and there are none left on the game board, simply snag the right-colored Life Tile from another player.
Whenever you like, you can trade these Life Tiles in for cash at the Museum Home Space during the game.
To trade in a Life Tile, you need to land on the Museum Home Space by spinning and moving there. This means that if you’re sent to the Museum because of a Trap or Adventure Card, you can’t turn in a Tile.
– Remember, turning in Life Tiles during the game is a smart move to protect your valuable Tiles from being stolen by other players.
When you turn in a Life Tile before the game ends, you’ll get half of the dollar amount written on that tile.
– Hang on to your Life Tiles until the end of the game, and you’ll receive the full amount indicated on the card.
After you turn in a Life Tile, put it back in the box and take it out of play.
Oh, and by the way, let’s talk about Partner Cards now.

Hey there! Let’s talk about Partner Cards and how they can amp up your game and protect your precious Life Tiles and Relics. Check out these important rules:
Now, let’s talk about Adventure Cards.

Hey there! Let’s talk about Adventure Cards. They’re an important part of the game and can have both good and bad effects.
Each Adventure Card has four different events – one for each colored game path. When you draw a card, read the event that matches the path you’re on.
Now, here’s the tricky part. If the card tells you to pick another player, you can only choose someone who has already taken a turn. But if no one has gone yet, you’ll have to get rid of the card and draw a new one.
After you follow the card’s instructions, make sure to discard it. That way, it’s out of the game. And if the card tells you to do something that you can’t, your turn is over. Oh, and don’t forget to throw the card away.

So, here’s the deal. When you’re going on the BLUE TEMPLE OF DOOM path, it’s important to pay attention and follow the directions that you find next to the blue box. And if you happen to be taking the PURPLE RAIDERS OF THE LOST Ark path, well, then you gotta read and follow the directions for the text next to the purple box.
The Cards That Make Things Interesting

Let me tell you about the Special Event Cards in the Adventure Card deck. At the end, there are five of these cards, and each one gives you a task to complete.
These tasks on the Special Event Cards are similar to the events on the Adventure Cards, but they’re on a bigger scale. They can give you money or make you lose Life Tiles or Partners. They could even end the whole game!
Stealing Tiles/relics From Other Players
Stealing
Picture this: you land on the same space as another player, or a space right next to them. And guess what? You want to steal one of their Relics or Life Tiles. Well, here’s how it goes down – no card drawing involved this time. Instead, both of you spin the spinner. If your spin is higher, you win!
If you win, you get to take a Relic or Life Tile from your opponent. But if your opponent’s spin is higher, tough luck – nothing happens. And in the rare case where you both spin the same number, sorry, your turn is over with nothing to show for it.
End of the Game
At the end of the Adventure Card deck, there are five Special Event Cards. One of these cards will bring the game to an end. Once someone draws this game-ending Special Event Card, it’s time to calculate your final score.
First, count your money. How much cash do you have?
Next, trade in your Partner Cards for any remaining Life Tiles, regardless of the path they are on. Do this in turn order, starting with the player who drew the game-ending Special Event Card. Keep going until all players’ Partner Cards have been discarded or there are no more Life Tiles.
Now, add up all the values on your Life Tiles.
Don’t forget to factor in the value of any Relics you have. Check the values listed on pages 2 and 3.
Finally, add up all these figures together.
The player with the highest total value wins the game!
Let’s take Karen as an example. She ends the game with $20,000 in cash. She also has:
– a boat worth $10,000
– a house worth $30,000
– a car worth $15,000
To calculate Karen’s final score, we add up all these values:
$20,000 + $10,000 + $30,000 + $15,000 = $75,000
Karen has a total value of $75,000.
When I play the Game of Life, I have a chance to make some exciting and unexpected choices. One of those choices is whether to trade in my partner for a random Life Tile valued at $25,000. It’s a risky move, but it could lead to a big payoff.
There are also other Life Tiles that I can collect along the way. Each Life Tile is worth $50,000, and there are even special Sankara Stones that are worth $500,000. By collecting these tiles and stones, I can increase my overall wealth and have a shot at winning the game.
Let’s do the math to see how much my choices have paid off. So far, I’ve earned $20,000 in cash. If I trade in my partner, I have a chance to gain an additional $25,000. Plus, I already have some Life Tiles worth a total of $100,000. And if I’m lucky enough to find the Sankara Stones, I’ll add another $500,000 to my total.
So, my grand total so far is $20,000 + $25,000 + $100,000 + $500,000 = $645,000. Not too shabby!
Playing the Game of Life is all about taking risks and making choices. By collecting Life Tiles and making strategic moves, I can try to boost my wealth and come out on top. It’s a game of chance, but with a little luck and some clever decision-making, I could end up a big winner.
