Fruit Ninja Card Game Rules

Hey there! So you’re interested in playing the Fruit Ninja Card Game, huh? That’s awesome! I’m here to guide you through the rules, so you can slice your way to victory. Let’s get started!

Setup:

To begin, make sure you have the Fruit Ninja deck ready. Shuffle the cards thoroughly and deal the whole deck equally among all players. Each player will have their own set of cards to play with.

Objective:

The goal of the game is simple: be the first player to reach a certain number of fruit points. You can choose the target fruit points before starting the game, depending on how long you want to play. For example, you could set the target at 50 fruit points for a shorter game, or 100 fruit points for a longer one.

Gameplay:

Now it’s time to start the epic fruit-slicing action! On your turn, you’ll have three options: draw, slice, or use a power card.

Draw: If you choose to draw, simply take a card from the top of the deck and add it to your hand. This can give you more options for your next moves.

Slice: Slicing is where the real fun begins! To slice, play a fruit card from your hand and place it face up in front of you. Then, take another fruit card from your hand and place it on top of the first card, showing only the name of the top card. This represents a sliced fruit. Be careful though, other players can challenge your slice by saying “Ninja!” If they do, you must reveal the full stack of cards. If it’s a valid slice, you get to keep the stack and earn fruit points. If it’s not a valid slice, you lose fruit points instead.

Power cards: Power cards add an extra twist to the game. These special cards have different abilities that can help you or hinder your opponents. You can play a power card at any time during your turn, but remember, you can only play one power card per turn.

Scoring:

Now, let’s talk about how you score those precious fruit points. Each fruit card has a point value on it, ranging from 1 to 5 points. When you successfully slice a stack of cards, you earn points equal to the total value of all the fruits in that stack. Keep track of your points as you play, and keep an eye on your opponents too!

Winning the Game:

The game continues until one player reaches the target fruit points that were set at the beginning. That player is declared the winner, and they become the ultimate Fruit Ninja!

So, are you ready to become a fruit-slicing master? Gather your friends, set up the game, and let the slicing frenzy begin. Remember, stay focused, be quick, and most importantly, have a blast playing the Fruit Ninja Card Game!

In this game, the objective is to be the first player to collect either one of each type of fruit or a total of 25 fruits, regardless of the type.

How to Play

To begin, shuffle all the cards and place the deck facing downwards. The player who is the youngest starts the game.

During your turn, you will cut the deck and choose one card without looking at its face. You have two options: you can either pick the top card from the bottom half of the deck or take the bottom card from the deck that is already in your hand.

However, there’s a catch – you are not allowed to look at the back of the bottom card. Take a look at the picture below for a visual example.

So, once you’ve made your choice, take a good look at the card. If you happen to pick either a Fruit Card or a Power Banana card, you can go ahead and add it to your bounty for that turn.

But wait! If the card happens to be a bomb, your turn is immediately over. And not only that, you lose any fruit you had collected up until that point!

Sensei really wants you to understand the importance of not being too greedy!

Here’s a helpful tip: if you come across some Fruit or Power Banana cards that you really want to keep, you can choose to end your turn before a bomb card appears. That way, you save those cards and they count towards your goal of collecting all the necessary types of fruit.

Imagine this: it’s my first turn in a thrilling card game. I expertly cut the deck three times, and here’s what I’ve got:

Before any bombs come into play, I decide to end my turn. That means I’ve gathered 8 pieces of fruit from my previous moves.

Now it’s my turn again, and my first cut reveals a card with 5 lemons on it. Exciting! But then, on my second cut… Boom! A bomb appears. I have to return the card with 5 lemons and the bomb to the deck, but fortunately, I still get to keep the 8 pieces of fruit I collected earlier.

It’s important to note: once you start cutting the cards, you can’t change your mind halfway and decide to end your turn. So make your decision wisely!

Oh, and here’s the best part: every time you cut the deck, you have to shout “he-ya”! Makes the game even more fun, don’t you think?

Note: When it’s your turn to cut the cards, remember that you should only cut the top section of the cards that are still in your hand. Don’t forget to leave the bottom cards behind!

So, be careful when you make your cut. If you cut too thin, your turn will end sooner!

Cards

Sensei wants to help you make an informed decision. That’s why the CARD BACKS have three different colors. These colors give you some clues about what you might find on the card face.

Green Cards

Let’s talk about green cards. They may not seem like much at first, but they’re actually quite intriguing. You see, green cards are unique because they only have one piece of fruit on them. Now, this might make you wonder why anyone would want a card with just one fruit. But here’s the catch – green cards also have a low chance of being a bomb.

Yellow Cards

Now, let me share something interesting with you. The yellow cards, oh boy! These ones have not one, but two pieces of fruit! How cool is that? But here’s the twist – they also have a slightly higher chance of being a bomb compared to the green cards.

Red Cards

These cards are like a colorful assortment of fruits at a farmer’s market. They’re bursting with five juicy pieces of fruit. But, there’s a catch – there’s also a higher chance that they might be a bomb!

Bombs

When you come across a bomb card, your turn ends and any fruit you haven’t saved gets destroyed. If you have any fruit cards on a turn with a bomb, they get returned to the deck, and you have to shuffle it again.

But there are exceptions:

If the very first card you pick on your turn happens to be a bomb, you’re in luck! You don’t have to reshuffle. Just put the bomb at the bottom of the deck and carry on with your turn.

Now, let’s talk about Power Banana Cards.

These cards are in a league of their own. They can only be used once you’ve saved them in your special stash.

Grab a Fruit

Hey there! Guess what? I’ve got something pretty cool to share with you. So, check this out: I have a special card called “Grab a Fruit.” And let me tell you, it’s super handy. When your turn rolls around, you know what you can do? You can swipe one Fruit Card from another player! How awesome is that?

Ignore One Bomb

Hey there! I’ve got some awesome news for you. You can use this super cool card to totally brush off one bomb when it’s your turn.

Give It Another Shot

If a bomb blows up your turn, using this card lets you have another shot. But, before you begin, you have to put the fruit that got blown up by the bomb back into the deck and give it a good shuffle.

Once you play a Power Banana card, it’s out of the game. You don’t put it back in the deck.

Remember: Keep your saved fruit separate from the fruit you’re still collecting. It’s smart to keep unsaved fruit in the middle of the playing area to avoid getting mixed up. Sensei isn’t a fan of confusion.

Don’t forget to leave your saved fruit face-up so that everyone can see what you have!

The Game Ends

There are two ways to win.

    1. First, make sure you get a card for each type of fruit. Your goal is to collect one card for each of the seven fruits that are listed below. Don’t forget that the Power Banana cards don’t count as fruit because they have special powers that make them immune to math.
