When it’s your turn, here’s what you do:

1. You ask another player for a specific item. It’s like saying, “Hey, do you have the card I need?”
2. After that, you check to see if the cards in your hand match what a dog wants. Each dog has their own special wish list!

How to Ask for a Card

• You can ask any player for something you need. Pretend to be a dog when you ask them. For example: “(panting) Do you have the (panting) doggie bed (bark)?”
• If the player has what you asked for, they have to give it to you. Here’s a tip: ask for things that will help you collect the three items a dog wants.
• If the player doesn’t have what you asked for, take a card from the top of the draw pile.

If you have all three items that a dog is looking for, you can show the three matching item cards and shout “Bow Wow!”

1. Put the three cards that you just played into the discard pile.
2. Great news! You’ve adopted a new furry friend! Place the dog in front of you. Don’t worry, this dog is safe with you. Nobody can take it away by matching the same three items.
3. You get to take another turn. Lucky you!

When You Run Out of Cards

If you don’t have any cards left in your hand, don’t worry! Just take a card from the draw pile. But if the draw pile is empty, do this: reshuffle the discard pile and use it as the new draw pile.
