ZANDARI

Hey there! Let me tell you about Zandari – it’s a super fun fishing game that requires strategy. The goal is to collect cards and score the highest number of points before anyone else. The great thing is, you can play it as a quick game or take your time and make it a longer one. Plus, you can play it anywhere, anytime, because all you need is a simple deck of cards!

So, here’s how it goes – you and your teammate will go head-to-head with another team. Your mission is to use your cards wisely and try to capture as many as you can. The team that reaches 11 points first wins the game! Exciting, huh?

SETUP

Let’s get things set up, shall we? First, divide everyone into two-player teams. It doesn’t matter who deals first, but remember to pass the dealer spot to the left after each round. The dealer will shuffle the cards, and the player on their right will cut the deck by removing at least four cards from each side.

Hey there! Let me explain how the game works. First, I’ll take the bottom four cards and place them face up on the table in a row. If there are any Jacks among them, I get to keep one for myself. But don’t worry, I’ll put a new card in the row to replace any Jacks.

Now it’s time for the dealer to do their thing. They will give each player four cards, one at a time, starting from their left and moving clockwise around the table. The dealer saves themselves for last. If I kept any Jacks earlier, those players will get fewer cards. So, everyone should start with four cards.

Once you play all four of your cards, the dealer will give you four new ones. They will keep doing this until we run out of cards in the deck.

Ready to Play?

When the game starts, I, the player to the left of the dealer, go first, and then we take turns in a clockwise direction. On my turn, I choose a card from my hand and place it face up on the table. The goal is to capture cards as the game goes on, collecting them in a pile in front of me.

There are two ways to capture a card. First, if the card I play matches the rank of the card that it’s played on top of, I can capture both cards. Second, if the sum of the cards on the table matches the value of the card I play, then I can capture all of them. If I have the opportunity to capture cards, I must do so.

There are a few special cards in the game. Kings can only be captured by other Kings, and Queens can only be captured by other Queens. These cards don’t have any numerical value. If a Jack is played, it’s a powerful move that allows me to capture all the cards on the table. However, if I play a Jack and there are no cards on the table, I have to leave the Jack there and don’t gain anything.

So, imagine this: the deck is all finished and we’ve played all our cards. And you know what happens then? The last person to grab cards gets to take all the ones that are left on the table. Pretty cool, huh? But here’s the really exciting part – after each round, we add up the scores. And we keep playing like this until one of us reaches 11 points. Yeah, you heard me right – 11 points and you’re the winner!

Here’s Some Extra Stuff to Consider

Now, here’s how things get interesting. The team with the most cards gets 2 points. And if your team has the most clubs, you get another point. Oh, and if one of you manages to collect the two of clubs, that’s 1 point right there. And let’s not forget about the ten of diamonds – that’s worth 1 point too! You can score up to 5 points in each round, which means there’s a chance for some sweet bonus points. Not bad, right?

When it comes to the point values of the cards, here’s the deal: aces are worth 1 point. The cards from 2 to 10 are worth their face value – nothing more, nothing less. But those Kings, Queens, and Jacks? They don’t add any points to your score. So, keep that in mind when you’re playing, okay?

So, Who’s the Winner?

Well, my friend, the game ends when one team reaches 11 points. And that team – that’s the winner! Simple as that.
