You’re a Liar: Can You Spot the Deceiver?

Hey there! Wanna test your superpower of uncovering lies? Welcome to You’re a Liar! In this thrilling game, your mission is to identify the liars hiding among us. But be careful, pointing fingers without evidence might cost you dearly. Remember, there’s always a liar lurking around. Are you up for the challenge?

Getting Ready

Let’s start by sorting the cards into three piles. These piles will go in the middle of the group. The cards that reveal the truth and the ones that contain lies should be placed facedown. The Finger Cards will be placed next to them.

Each player is then granted one Finger Card as a free pass. Lucky you!

Let the Game Begin

Okay, let’s get started with the game! I’ll be the first “guesser” and I’ll face away from the group. Just closing my eyes won’t do, I need to completely turn around. Now, without looking at the card, you all can choose either a True Card or a Lie Card. Remember, every round, at least one Lie Card must be picked.

Great! Now that everyone has chosen a card, I can turn back around. Make sure you cover up the backs of the cards really well, so I can’t see if they are True Cards or Lie Cards. We don’t want me to have any hints! Now, let’s start with the player on my left. Each player will read out the statements on their card.

Once everyone is done sharing their statement, I get to decide whether they’re telling the truth or not. When I believe someone is lying, I show it by placing a Finger Card in front of them. These Finger Cards come from the pile in the middle of the table and must be placed before the next person shares their statement. We keep rotating the role of the Guesser clockwise.

If I correctly guess that someone’s statement is a lie, I get a Finger Card, which is like a point. Any Finger Cards that I wrongly accuse someone of having go back into the middle pile. But here’s the catch: for every statement I thought was a lie but turned out to be true, I have to put one of my Finger Cards back into the center pile.

Alright, folks! Listen up! I’ve got some important news for ya. Once all the Finger Cards are gone from the center pile, the game is officially over. Now pay attention! It’s time to count those Finger Cards. The player who’s got the most Finger Cards is crowned the ultimate winner. Bravo!
