WITCHSTONE

Hey there! Have you ever heard about the Witchstone? Let me tell you, it’s got this crazy strong energy field that stretches all across the land. It’s like nothing else out there! And guess what? You can tap into that power and use it to your advantage.

See, you’ve got this awesome cauldron, right? Well, with that cauldron, you can whip up some incredible spells and create a whole network of magic energy around the Witchstone. How cool is that? I mean, you’ll be spreading your magic farther than any other magician out there!

But here’s the deal, my friend. You’ve only got eleven turns to do it. So you have to make every move count. Collect as many points as you can and show those other witches who’s boss!

SETTING UP THE GAME

Getting Ready

Before we can start playing, we need to set up the gameboard. Here’s how:

First, we place the gameboard right in the middle of the table. It’s like the centerpiece of our game.

Next, we create two piles of owl tiles. These tiles are special and come in different sizes. We arrange them from smallest to largest so they ascend, or get bigger, like stairs.

Now onto the scrolls. They contain special information and are very important. We shuffle them up and then place them face down in their assigned spots on the gameboard.

The hex tiles are next. These tiles are unique and have different symbols on them. We mix them up and pile them right in the middle of the pentagon shape on the gameboard.

Lastly, we have the magic chips. These are special chips that have magical powers. We mix them up and put them on each of the spots in the crystal ball on the gameboard.

Getting Ready to Play

So, you’ve decided to play this awesome game. Well, the first thing you need to do is get set up! Don’t worry, I’ll walk you through it.

First, you and your fellow players need to pick a color. This color will represent each of you throughout the game. Once you’ve chosen your color, gather all your materials: the screen, cauldron, hex tiles, energy units, owl counters, marker, animal marker, and crystals. Oh, and make sure your crystals match your chosen color!

Now that you have everything ready, let’s set up the game. Each player should take five hex tiles from their pile and place them behind their screen. This is your own secret area.

Next, each player should place one owl counter on the zero space of the board, another one on the marked space of the Pentagram, and the final one on the hilt of the Wand. These owl counters will help keep track of your progress.

Finally, we need to determine the first player. Traditionally, it’s the player who cooked something in a pot most recently. The player to their right will place their witch onto one of the tower spaces, showing that this tower belongs to them. And that’s it – you’re all set up and ready to begin your magical journey!

Now it’s time for the second-to-last person to take a turn. They’ll place their witch on a tower that nobody has taken yet. After that, each player who has already placed their witch will earn two victory points. And now, the game is about to begin!

HOW TO PLAY

Alright, let’s get this game started! The first player gets to go first. They’ll choose a hex tile and put it over two empty spaces on their cauldron. Be careful though, because some spaces have special actions on them. You can’t cover those up with your hex tiles. Oh, and don’t forget, you can’t cover up crystals either. Keep an eye out for those!

When I place a hex tile, I can do two actions that are shown on the tile. We’ll keep doing this, with each of us placing tiles and doing actions, taking turns. Once we’ve done this 11 times, the game will be over. At the end, we should all have used up all our supplies and only have four tiles left.

THE GAME ENDS

After eleven rounds, the game comes to an end. Each of us should have only four hex tiles left behind our screens. Then, we’ll count up our victory points from our owl tiles, magic trips, and scrolls. The player with the most victory points wins the game!
