Wildlands game rules – how to play wildlands

WILDLANDS

Welcome to a land where a once-great kingdom has been taken over by the wildlands. Here, there are no rules, and survival, wealth-building, and glory are all up for grabs. Take control of a unique river faction and prepare for war. The question is, can you seize the land and emerge victorious?

SETUP

First things first, choose your color and faction. They will represent you throughout the game and come with matching cards, figurines, bases, and crystals. Next, it’s time to pick a map to play on. For beginners, the dungeon is a great starting point. Let the adventure begin!

So here’s what you need to do: your character cards and faction cards go right in front of you, face up. And don’t forget to put each miniature on its matching character card!

Now, grab those action cards and give them a good shuffle. Lay them face down in front of you to create your own action deck.

Next up, it’s time to deal out the map cards. Shuffle them up and deal ten to each player. You’ll then choose one card for each of your characters and place it face down on the character card. This card shows where your character will start, and it’s important to keep it a secret from the others.

Now it’s time to distribute the remaining map cards to the player on your right. You’ll place the crystal shards you collected on these five spaces. Once that’s done, draw seven action cards from your deck to create your hand. The player with the fewest shards gets to go first. And just like that, the game is ready to start.

PLAYING THE GAME

When it’s your turn, you’ll reveal a character and take as many actions as you want. Then, draw three more cards to end your turn. The player to your left will then take their turn. You earn points by collecting crystals and defeating enemies – each one counts as a point. Once you’ve accumulated five points, the game is over.

If I start my turn and I still have a character on my character card, I need to reveal one. To do this, I flip the map card assigned to the character and place the figurine on the corresponding space on the board. I can reveal as many characters as I want.

I can play as many action cards as I want, but I have to play them one at a time. I need to decide which option I will use. If I want to stop someone else from completing an action, I can play interrupt cards. If I run out of cards, I can shuffle my discard pile.

When it comes to claiming shards, you need to make sure that the shard matches your color. Additionally, your character should be on the same space as the token. Once these conditions are met, you can play three cards that show your character’s icon. After revealing your characters and playing the cards, you can declare that your turn is ending. Finish your turn by drawing enough cards to bring your hand to seven cards.

In order to win the game, you need to accumulate five points. Once a player reaches this amount, they are declared the winner. However, the game can also end if a player loses all their characters. In that case, the player with the most points wins.
