Trashed game rules – how to play trashed

TRASHED

I was inspired by this really old card game called Garbage. I added some cool new twists to create Trashed. The objective of the game is to get all your cards in the right order, while keeping them face down. Sounds simple, right? But let me tell you, it can get pretty challenging!

Can you imagine trying to remember which cards you’ve replaced, while also avoiding getting trashed by another player? Trashed is perfect for everyone in the family and it’s super easy to set up!

SETUP

To get started, pick someone to be the dealer. They will shuffle the deck and give each player 10 cards, all face down. Each player should place their cards in front of them, still face down. The remaining cards will be used as the draw pile and can be put in the middle of the table.

Let’s get started with the game! We’ll begin by flipping over the top card from the draw pile and placing it beside the pile. Now we’re ready to begin!

Ready, Set, Play!

The game will start with the player on the left of the dealer, and then go around the group to the left. When it’s your turn, you have a choice to make. You can either draw a card from the draw pile or take the top card from the discard pile. And here’s the best part, you don’t have to keep the card hidden from the other players!

Once you’ve made your choice and drawn a card, use it to replace one of your facedown cards. The goal of the game is to arrange all of your ten cards in the correct numerical order. Remember, the top left card should be number one, the bottom left card should be number six, and the bottom right card should be number ten. Make sure to place your new card in its proper place.

When you replace a card, take a moment to see what card you ended up with. If that card can be used to replace another card, go ahead and do so. Keep going in this pattern until you either reveal a stop card or can no longer use the newly replaced card. To finish your turn, discard the card that you didn’t use.

The first round comes to an end when a player successfully arranges all their cards in the correct order. Then, the dealer shuffles the deck once again and deals ten cards to each player, just like in the first round. However, the winner of the first round only receives nine cards. A player can only go down to nine cards if they have already been the first to arrange their ten cards correctly.

It is each player’s responsibility to keep track of how many cards they need in each round. The first player to win three rounds, consisting of ten cards, nine cards, and eight cards respectively, wins the game!

Special Cards

When you play a wild card, you can choose any face-down card to play it on. If you draw a card that can replace the wild card, you can swap them. Then, you can play the wild card on another face-down card of your choice.

If a stop card is revealed or drawn, your turn ends immediately.

Trash cards give you an advantage over your opponents. You can steal any of their face-up number cards and replace them with the trash card. However, you can’t steal wild cards. The player you targeted must then replace the trash card with a wild card or the appropriate number card.

END OF GAME

The game ends when a player has won three rounds. That player is declared the winner of the game!
