Trash pandas – learn to play with

TRASH PANDAS

Trash Pandas is a fun game where you collect junk from a trash can! Each card in the game represents a different item that you can find in the trash can. The goal is to collect as much junk as possible before the trash can is empty. The more cards you have of each type, the more points you will score.

If you have the most points at the end of the game, you become the ultimate Trash Panda. Are you ready to become a skilled thief and collect all the floppy items?

SETUP

To get started, let’s set up the game. First, make sure everyone can see the Token Actions card. Then, shuffle the entire deck of cards and deal them face down to each player, starting with the last person who took out the trash. The first player should receive three cards, the second player four cards, the third player five cards, and the fourth player six cards. The remaining deck can be placed face down in the middle of the group to create the trash can.

Next, arrange the 6 tokens in a line in the center of the playing area. Put the die next to the tokens. Now, we’re ready to start!

LET’S PLAY!

When we start the game, the person with the fewest cards goes first. They roll the die and pick a token that matches the number they rolled. Then, they have to decide if they want to keep rolling or if they want to stop. If they roll a number that matches a token they already have, they bust and don’t get to resolve any of their tokens.

If you bust, you can draw a card from the trash can as a small prize. If you decide to stop rolling and you haven’t busted yet, you can resolve your tokens. When you resolve a token, you put it back in the middle. After resolving all your tokens, your turn is over and the person on your left gets to roll.

When I find a trash can token, I get to draw two cards from the trash can. It’s like hitting the jackpot! And when the tree token comes up, I have to stash two cards from my hand. Stashing means putting them aside, face down, until the game is over.

But here’s the tricky part: sometimes the trash/tree token appears. And when it does, I have to make a choice. I can either draw one card from the trash can or stash one card from my hand. It’s a tough decision, but I love having options.

Now, let’s talk about the theft token. This one gives me the power to steal a random card from another player’s hand. How cool is that? But there’s a catch: if they have a Doggo or Kitteh card, my move can be blocked. Those pesky pets! But hey, it’s all part of the game.

And then we have the Bandit Mask token. When this one comes up, I get to draw a card from the top of the trash can and show it off to everyone. It’s like showing off my treasure! But here’s the interesting part: the other players can stash a card from their hand if it matches the one I showed them. The more cards they stash, the more cards I get to draw. It’s a win-win situation for me!

Lastly, we have the recycle token. This little token is a game-changer. When I resolve it, I can exchange it for any token that hasn’t been taken before. It’s like getting a second chance to make a different choice. How cool is that?

When you play the game, you can’t put cards away unless you use a Bandit Mask or Tree action. Stashed cards are usually kept face down, unless you have the Bandit Mask token. The game ends when there are no more cards left in the trash can. Then we count the points.

Start by sorting the cards by their type and put them together with their matching cards. You can find the points indicated in the top left corner of each card. The number of points depends on who stashed the most cards of each type. If you stashed the most, you get the highest score and go down the line.

If two players have the same number of a certain type of card, they both get the highest score minus one point. You earn one point for every Blammo! card. The player with the most points wins!

DIFFERENT TYPES OF CARDS

If you add a Shiny card to your hand, you can now swipe a stashed card from any player you choose. Imagine distracting your competition with a shiny object and pulling off a card heist just like a real Trash Panda.

Acquire a Yum Yum card and you can play it on another player’s turn to make them take an additional roll, even if they’ve decided to stop. The goal is to make them spill their trash!

When you play a Feesh card, you gain the ability to search through the discard pile and “fish out” any card you want. And the best part? You can use that card on the same turn!

When it comes to leftover pizza, it’s always a good choice! Use this card, and you’ll be able to resolve a token for a second time if it’s played at the same time. That means you get to draw double the cards.

Hey there! These cards are absolutely bananas! You can use the Nanners card to cancel your last die roll and avoid a bust. It’s like erasing it from existence.

Feeling a little reckless? Try the Blammo! card! It lets you reroll and forget about your previous roll. Take a chance and see what happens! Remember, Blammo! cards are only worth one point when you stash them.

If someone tries to steal one of your cards, don’t worry! Just send the dogs after them with the Doggo card. They won’t be able to take anything from you, and as a bonus, you get to draw two cards from the trash can.

Ready to play dirty? The Kitteh card is your secret weapon. When someone tries to steal from you, play the Kitteh card instead. You’ll get to steal a random card from their hand. Turn the tables on those sticky-fingered players!

GAME OVER

The game comes to an end when the deck runs out of cards. At that point, everyone adds up their points, and the player with the highest score wins the game!
