Welcome to Totit, an Exceptional Fishing Game!
Hey there! I’m here to introduce you to Totit, a fishing game that stands out from the rest. What makes it special? Well, let me give you the lowdown. The deck in Totit is slightly different from other games, as it includes a mix of cards from a regular deck. And guess what? It’s designed for bigger groups of up to six people, so you can have even more fun with your friends! The objective of this game is to gather more points than anyone else. Exciting, right?
Getting Set Up is a Breeze!
Now, let’s talk about the setup procedure. First things first, we need to create the playing deck. It’s as easy as pie, really. All you have to do is include all the ace to nine cards from the Diamonds, Clubs, and Hearts suits, along with the Jacks, Queens, and Kings from the Spades suit. Anything else? Nope! Just make sure your deck is made up of sixty cards, and you’re good to go!
Let’s start by drawing cards to determine who goes first. Each player will draw a card, and the person with the highest numbered card gets to be the first dealer. The dealer is responsible for shuffling the deck and having the player to their right cut it.
Once the deck is prepared, the dealer will deal eighteen cards face up in the center of the table. These cards are available for all players to use. Then, starting with the player to the dealer’s left, cards will be distributed one at a time in a clockwise fashion until each player has a total of seven cards. Any remaining cards will be set aside for now. We’re now ready to start the game!
GAMEPLAY
Hey there! Let’s talk about how this game works, shall we? The player on my left is always the first player, and then we go around the group clockwise. It’s pretty simple – during my turn, I just need to play one card from my hand. I can either play a single card or capture a card from the table.
Now, on my first turn, I have a special chance to capture a card. All I need to do is play the exact same card as the one on the table. If I do that, I put both cards to the side – that’s my captured pile. On the next turns, I can still capture cards, but they just need to be the same rank, even if they’re different suits. And you know what? Aces, Jacks, Queens, and Kings are all considered the same rank for capturing.
When we’re done playing all our cards, that’s when the hand ends and we tally up our points. But wait, there’s more! The game doesn’t stop until each player has had a chance to be the dealer. And after that last hand, we add up all our points from throughout the game. The player with the most points… drum roll, please… is the winner!
