The plot – learn to play with

Welcome to The Plot Game

I’m here to tell you all about The Plot – a solitaire game that challenges you while also giving you a great chance to win. Let’s dive in!

Get Ready to Play

Before we get started, let’s talk about the cards and how to deal them. In The Plot, we use a special deck of 104 cards.

To begin, you’ll want to deal the reserve pile. It’s made up of 13 cards, and you’ll place them face down. Then, you’ll flip the entire pile over so that you can see the top card. The other cards in the reserve should remain hidden.

The first foundation pile will be decided by the next card you deal from the deck. This card will determine the starting card for all of the foundation piles.

Now, let’s move on to the tableau. You’ll deal twelve cards in three rows, with four cards in each row. The remaining cards will become your draw pile for the game.

How to Play The Plot

Now that you know how to set up the game, let’s talk about how to play. The objective of The Plot is to build up all four foundation piles, starting with the first one you determined during the setup.

You can only build these foundation piles up or down, just like in other solitaire games. For example, if your starting foundation card is a 5, you can play a 4 or a 6 on top of it. The suits don’t matter in this game.

In the tableau, you can build on the foundation piles or on other tableau columns. Just remember that you can only move a single card at a time.

If you get stuck and can’t move any more cards, you can use the draw pile. Simply click on it to draw a new card. But be careful, as there are only a limited number of cards in the draw pile!

Keep playing and building up your foundation piles until you’ve completed all four of them. Remember, even though The Plot may seem challenging, there’s still a good chance you can win the game. Good luck!

THE PLAY

So, here’s what you need to do when you’re playing this game. First, you want to build up the first foundation with 13 cards. The trick is to stack them in ascending order, going from low to high, and you don’t need to worry about the suits. Let’s say the first card on your foundation is a 7, well, that means you need to stack cards on top of it until you reach a King, and then you stop at 6. Remember, the suits don’t matter at this point. Once you’ve completed the first foundation, you can start working on the rest of them. You can build them all together at the same time.

Now, to keep the game going, you’ll need to draw cards from the top of the draw pile, one by one, and see if you can play them on the tableau or on the foundation piles. If a card is not playable, don’t worry! Just put it face up on the waste pile. Keep doing this until you either win the game or you get blocked and can’t make any more moves. Oh, and one important thing to note, there’s no redeal in this game, so make every move count!

When playing the card game, the top card in the reserve is always ready to be played on a foundation. To build tableau piles, arrange the cards in descending order, paying no attention to the suit. If any foundation cards become visible before the first one is complete, put them on the waste pile. When there are empty spaces in the tableau, fill them with a foundation card from the draw pile or the top card of the waste pile. Once the first foundation is finished, you can use any card from the waste pile or stock to fill empty spaces on the tableau.

How to Win

You win the game when all eight foundations have been built up to thirteen cards each. If you reach a point where you can’t make any more moves, you lose.
