WHAT DO YOU NEED TO PLAY?

The deck of cards has 52 cards in total, and they are divided into four suits. The cards in each suit are ranked from Ace, which is the lowest, to King, which is the highest.

When it comes to scoring, there is a special deck of 100 cards. This deck consists of 50 spoon cards, 38 spork cards, and 12 trophy cards. Each of these cards has a different value and can affect your score in the game.

Let’s Get Started

So, we’re all set up and ready to go! First, I’ll need to take some spoons and sporks from the scoring deck. I’ll shuffle them together and put the pile face-down in the middle of the table. Now, let’s see how many cards we’ll need based on the number of players. Take a look at the table below:

The Game

Let’s dive into the exciting world of the game! It all starts with the dealer, who pulls the top card from the draw pile and adds it to their hand. Then, they choose one card from their hand and secretly pass it to the player on their left.

Now, pay close attention because things are about to get intense. As soon as you receive a card, you can start playing. Remember, speed is key, so play as fast as you can!

If cards are passed to you faster than you can pick them up, don’t panic! Just stack them neatly in a pile. This way, you can keep track of all the cards that were passed to you by the player on your right.

Here’s an important rule: you can never have more than 5 cards in your hand at once. Keep an eye on your hand size as you play!

Wrapping Up

When you have a set of four matching cards in your hand, you have the chance to take a scoring card from the pile in the center of the table. What’s interesting is that once someone touches a scoring card, it’s a free-for-all – anyone else at the table can grab a scoring card too!

The real goal is to grab a spoon scoring card. However, if you accidentally grab a spork scoring card instead, don’t worry! You can put it back and try for another card, as long as there are still some left in the center pile. The round only ends when all the scoring cards have been taken.

KEEPING THE GAME GOING

Once the round is over, collect all the playing cards and pass the role of dealer to the person on your left. Keep playing until you’ve finished all the rounds in the game.

HOW SCORING WORKS

Remember, the scoring card you grab is yours to keep. Each round, new scoring cards are used to make up the pile in the center.

So, guess what? The player who manages to snag the four-of-a-kind first is the big winner! They get to take home the coveted trophy card, and boy, that’s quite an achievement.

Now, here’s the deal. When the game comes to an end, it’s time to tally up the points. And let me tell you, those points can make all the difference. You earn a whopping 2 points for every trophy card you bring home. That’s definitely something to celebrate. But, hold on a second, because it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. For every spork you collect, you have to kiss goodbye to 2 points. Ouch! But don’t worry, every spoon you collect adds one point to your total score. It’s all about balance, my friend.
