Get Ready to Tell Some Twisted Tales!

Welcome to Socially Twisted, where we’re all about creating the most amazing – or utterly outrageous – stories imaginable! With each Story Card and Word Card you receive, it’s your chance to spin a yarn that will leave your friends laughing, gasping, and begging for more. Ultimately, the goal is to become the master storyteller and win everyone’s vote by the end of each round!

Let’s Get Started!

First things first, grab the red deck, blue deck, and yellow deck, and give them a good shuffle – but keep them separate. Place all three decks face down in the middle of the group, where everyone can easily reach them. Each player should then draw four cards from each deck – red, blue, and yellow.

The red cards, called Story Cards, are the heart of the game. They set the stage for your story, providing you with a theme to work with. The blue cards, called Word Cards, give you the essential ingredients for your tale. And finally, the yellow cards, known as Winner Cards, add a touch of excitement to the gameplay.

How to Play

Let’s dive into the gameplay! To start, all players should have 4 Story Cards, 4 Word Cards, and 4 Winner Cards in their hands. Once everyone is ready, it’s time to begin!

The first player, chosen by the group, leads the way. They select one Story Card and one Word Card from their hand. These cards will be the foundation of their story. With the cards in hand, the player steps into the spotlight.

But here’s the twist – they only have 60 seconds, expertly timed by another player, to weave a story that ties together the Story Card and includes all the words on the Word Card. It’s a race against the clock!

Once the player has crafted their tale, the round is complete. The torch is then passed to the next player, who repeats the process. And so it goes, round after round, each player taking turns improvising their stories, showcasing their creativity, and trying to think on their feet.

The game continues until all players have had a chance to be the storyteller. At that point, the fun really begins. Each player secretly votes for their favorite story by playing one of their Winner Cards. The player with the most votes wins the game and earns the title of storytelling champion!

If I’m unable to fabricate a story, the gameplay moves on to the next player. But, if I can create a story, that keeps me in the running to earn a Winner Card! Then, it’s the next player’s turn to choose one Story Card and one Word Card, and repeat the above steps. And don’t worry, after a Story Card and Word Card have been used, we can just discard them.

Once each of us has had a chance to create a story once, it’s time to hand out Winner Cards. We each give a Winner Card to the person we think came up with the best story using the words and scenarios they were given! This continues for four rounds in total.

Finally, after four rounds of gameplay, it’s time to count our Winner Cards and see who came out on top. The player with the most Winner Cards after four rounds is crowned the winner of the game!

That’s the End of the Game!

When it comes to the game, it’s important to understand how it ends. The game consists of four rounds, and once those rounds are completed, it’s time to tally up the Winner Cards.

You and your fellow players will count how many Winner Cards each of you has accumulated. The player who has the most Winner Cards at the end of the game will be crowned the Most Socially Twisted champion!
