Welcome to Slippery Sam: The Exciting Bidding Game!
Are you ready to dive into the world of Slippery Sam? This thrilling game is perfect for 3 to 8 players, and the goal is simple: make bets and win them! Let me guide you through the exciting rules of Slippery Sam.
Getting Started: Setting Up
First, we need to determine who the dealer will be. This is done randomly and then rotates clockwise with each new round. Once the dealer is chosen, every player, including the dealer, must put a pre-determined bet into the pot. Everyone needs to be in on the action!
Now that everyone has contributed, it’s time to shuffle the deck. The dealer takes charge of this task, but players can request a shuffle. However, remember, the dealer has the final say and gets to shuffle last. Once the deck is shuffled, it’s time to deal three cards facedown to each player. Don’t peek at your cards just yet!
Let the Bidding Begin!
Now that everyone has their cards, it’s time for the betting round. Here’s how it works: the dealer starts by revealing cards to the center of the table one by one. This continues until a card with a value of 6 or lower is revealed.
When we play this game, the first person to make a bet is the player on the left side of the dealer, and the last person to bet is the dealer himself. To place a bet, you have to bet at least the same amount as the initial bet, but you can’t bet more than what’s in the pot. Keeping track of everyone’s bets is the dealer’s job.
Every player looks at their 3 facedown cards and decides whether they think one of those cards will be higher in rank than the last card that was revealed. They place their bet based on this prediction.
Once a player has made their bet, they reveal their hand. If one of their cards is not only of the same suit but also of a higher rank than the revealed card, they win. In this case, the dealer gives the winner back their original bet as well as their fair share of the pot. The losers, on the other hand, lose their bets.
After placing your bet, you’ll need to set your cards aside, face-down. Then, it’s time to pass the turn to the left. Each player takes their turn to bet against the pot, one at a time. They’re betting against the remaining amount in the pot.
If, by any chance, the pot runs out of money during a round, the next player in line becomes the dealer and a new round with a new pot starts.
At the end of a round, if there is still money left in the pot, the dealer collects it all before passing on the deal to the next player.
Remember, if there is any money remaining in the pot after a round, the dealer takes all of it before the next round begins.
