Welcome to the Exciting World of Ship Captain and Crew!
A Closer Look at Ship Captain and Crew
Get ready for an epic dice game adventure known as Ship Captain and Crew! You might have heard it go by other names like Clickety Clack or even the mighty Destroyer. This thrilling game is a favorite at bars, where it’s used to determine who gets to buy the next round. While Ship Captain and Crew can be played with just a handful of regular six-sided dice, you can also find fancy versions in stores that go all out with an awesome nautical theme!
So, how does the game work? Well, hold on tight because it’s about to get exciting! In Ship Captain and Crew, the goal is to roll the best possible combination of dice to rack up points. You’ll need to roll a Ship (6), a Captain (5), and a Crew (4) to claim maximum cargo and become the ultimate winner!
Let the Games Begin!
Now that you know the basics, it’s time to dive into the action. Each player will get their hands on five dice and give them a good old throw. The winner of the first round is the player who manages to roll the highest total.
When I play the game, I have three chances to build my ship, find a captain, assemble a crew, and gather the most valuable cargo. The catch is that I have to roll certain numbers in a specific order before I can keep them.
Let me explain with an example. On my first roll, I might get a 5, 4, 3, 4, and 3. Unfortunately, I don’t have a 6, which is necessary to start building my ship. So, I have to roll all five dice again.
If on my second roll I manage to get a 6, 5, 4, 3, and 4, I can keep the 6, 5, and 4 and roll the remaining two dice one more time. The goal is to increase my cargo score by getting a higher total. However, if I’m happy with a score of 7 from the 3 and 4, I can choose to keep it.
But here’s the twist: If I can’t establish my ship, captain, and crew by the end of my third roll, my turn ends with zero points. The dice then pass to the next player.
In the game, we continue playing in this manner until it comes to an end.
THE VICTORY
The game ends when a player achieves a score of fifty points or more.
