Rialto game rules – how to play rialto

RIALTO

Welcome to Rialto, the exciting board game set in the beautiful city of Venice. As you play, you’ll have the opportunity to build bridges and gondolas, and deploy councilmen to gain power and influence. The more districts your connections reach, the more valuable they become. Remember, the player with the most power at the end of the game wins!

SETUP

Let’s get started with the setup. Place the gameboard in the center of the playing area. Randomly distribute the six round tiles among the six districts, and put the gondola tiles on the gondola space. Shuffle the bridge tiles and stack them face up beside the board. Finally, place the bonus tiles on the bonus spaces located on the sides of the Grand Canal.

So here’s what happens: first, we have to sort all the building tiles by their color and value. After that, we place them on different spaces on the board. Just like that, the gold coins are placed on their own specific space on the board. Then comes the interesting part – shuffling all the cards and placing them face down next to the board. And to start the game, we randomly select the first player. Exciting, right?

Now it’s time for each player to grab their own board and the matching colored counters. The player to the right of the starting player will be the first to put their counter on the Doge track, followed by all the other players in a counterclockwise order. And just to keep things interesting, each player will also place their other counter on the third space of the Victory point track.

Alright, here’s the deal. We’re going to start by placing five of our councilmen on our boards. Oh yeah, and the rest of them? We’ll put ’em on the gameboard. After that, it’s time to grab our coins. The first player gets to go first, and then we’ll move to the player on their right. They’ll pick a building with a value of one. That’s how we get this game started!

LET’S PLAY

Get ready for some epic fun, because this game has six rounds. And each round? It has three phases. During each phase, we activate the buildings’ special abilities. In phase one, we activate the green buildings. Phase two, it’s the yellow buildings. And in phase three, it’s all about the blue buildings. So get ready to strategize and make some epic moves!

When we start the game, the first thing we do is move the district token to the district of the current round. Then, we lay out six cards next to the board for everyone to see. If we run out of cards to draw, we can shuffle the discard pile and use it. Each of us gets a card row and takes two cards from the draw pile. We can also keep any cards we had left over from the last round. But we have to be careful and make sure we only have seven cards in our hand by discarding extras.

In the next part of the game, we have six phases to complete. We start with the player who is the furthest on the doge track. The first player also gets a bonus from the previous phase. Then, each of us can play as many cards as we want that match our current stage. Once we’ve played our cards, we can take actions based on the number of cards we played.

In the final phase, phase 3, only the blue buildings can be activated. To activate a blue building, you just need to place a coin on it. After this round is over, the next round will start. The game continues like this for six rounds.

The End of the Game

The game ends after the sixth round. At this point, each player adds up their points from leftover supplies, buildings, and districts. Once all the points are tallied, it’s time to compare. The player with the highest score wins!
