RENATURE
Welcome to RENATURE, a game where you and your friends can help save the environment and restore balance to a polluted valley. It’s time to give Mother Nature a helping hand by reintroducing lost species and reclaiming her rightful place in the land. Get ready to strategize and compete with your friends to score the most points and become the ultimate champion of the game!
SETUP
Let’s get started with the setup. Place the gameboard in the middle of the playing area. If there are three or four players, each of you will choose a color to represent yourselves in the game. Make sure to collect a board and a balloon in your chosen color. If you’re playing with just two players, one player will use the board with the black paraglider, and the other player will use the board with the white paraglider.
So here’s what we’re going to do: we’ll cover all the empty spots on our board with plants that match. If we have any leftover plants, we’ll put them back in the box. Oh, and don’t forget to put the joker marker on the butterfly space on the side of the joker track. Now, let’s shuffle the area tokens and randomly place them on each area. Make sure the number of cloud tokens matches the spaces they’re assigned to, and put them in place too.
Next, we’re going to fill up all the cloud spaces on our boards with cloud tokens. It’s really important! Now, let’s shuffle the dominoes and hand them out. In a game with four players, each of us will get thirteen dominoes. If there are only three players, we’ll get eighteen dominoes each. And if it’s just the two of us, we’ll start with twenty-six. We’ll put our dominoes next to our boards, face down, to create our reserve. Then we’ll draw three of them and stand them up in front of us, so we’re the only ones who can see the front.
When I go on a walk, something interesting happens – I become the first player! I’ll move my score marker to the fourth space on the score track. Then, everyone else in the group will take turns and place their score markers one space below mine, going clockwise. And just like that, we’re ready to start the game!
It’s Time to Play!
Now it’s time for the gameplay to begin. Each player will take turns going clockwise around the group. We’ll keep playing until none of us have any dominoes left. During my turn, I’ll do four things in this order: place a domino, place a plant, score points, and refill my hand. And you know what? If I feel like it, I can even use some cloud tokens during my turn!
When you play dominoes, you have to put one of the dominoes you’re holding on the board facing up. You have to make sure that both halves of the domino cover an empty space without touching anything else on the board or going beyond the grid. And at least one half of the domino has to be next to an animal that matches it or a starting space.
After you’ve placed your domino, you can put a plant next to it if there’s a free space. If you can’t put a plant, you can just skip that turn. But if you can, then you get points for the plant you placed. You get one point for that plant and one point for each plant with a lower value in that area. You also get points for any other areas where you’ve placed plants.
Hey there! Once you’ve scored all your points, you can choose to take cloud actions, but remember, they’ll cost you cloud tokens. Just keep in mind, you can only do this during your turn. And after you’ve finished all your other actions, you’ll get to refresh your hand with a domino from your reserve. Then, it’s the next player’s turn.
The Game Comes to an End
When everyone runs out of dominoes, that’s it! The game is over. Now it’s time for scoring. We start by scoring the areas with area tokens, following the instructions in the yellow framed section. Then, we move on to scoring cloud tokens and area tokens. Oh, and don’t forget! You’ll lose points for any plants left on your board.
Once all the points are added up, we announce the winner. The player with the most points takes home the victory! Good luck!
