AN OVERVIEW OF PIT

Get ready for a thrilling and fast-paced card game called Pit! The game revolves around dominating the market for essential commodities like wheat and rye. As you engage in lively trading and shouting matches with other players, your goal is to collect all nine cards of a specific type. But remember, everyone else is trying to do the same thing at the same time, so prepare yourself for an exciting frenzy!

GAME SETUP

To get started, we need to choose someone to be the dealer. The dealer will place the silver bell in the middle of the playing area and shuffle all the cards together. Then, each player will receive nine cards.

Once everyone has their cards, we have thirty seconds to organize our hands and decide which commodity we want to focus on.

Now, it’s time to start the game! The dealer rings the bell to signal that the exchange is open.

How to Play

Trading begins! Everyone can try to make trades at the same time. You can trade up to four cards of the same suit at once. To make a trade, simply shout out the number of cards you want to trade. Remember, you don’t need to say which suit the cards are, just the quantity you want to get rid of.

When you want to complete a trade, you need to shout out the same number as the player you want to trade with. After that, you trade the same number of cards, all of them from the same suit. If necessary, you can adjust the number of cards you’re trading to match the other players.

The game continues in this way until a player has all nine cards of the same commodity. Once a player has all nine cards, they must quickly ring the bell and announce that they have cornered the market on the supply they collected. This victory is recorded on the score pad. Afterward, all the cards are shuffled again, and the game starts over!

The first player to accumulate five hundred points wins the game!
