PARLIAMENT 2050
Welcome to Parliament 2050, a captivating political card game that combines the thrill of poker, the strategy of chess, and the art of negotiation. In this game, you’ll join a political party of your choice, and your mission is to sway the votes in favor of your party. However, remember that no two players can belong to the same party.
Once you’ve selected your party, your objective is to earn points by winning over the majority of voters. Your point cards will guide you to focus on specific priorities to secure victory. Collect 40 points, and you’ll emerge as the winner of Parliament 2050!
SETUP
Before we dive into the thrilling gameplay, let’s set up the game. First, each player must choose a political party to represent. Once that’s done, every player will receive 5 voting cards based on their chosen party. In addition, each player will be dealt 4 point cards, with two facing up and two facing down.
GAMEPLAY
In this game, you get to choose the topic you want to vote on. You can pick from Taxation, War, Regulation, and State Power. Once you’ve made your choice, it’s time to argue your side and try to convince others to vote with you.
When it’s time to cast your votes, you’ll be rewarded with points based on the point cards you have. These cards determine how many points you’ll get if your party’s preference wins. Two of your cards will be visible to everyone, while the other two remain a secret.
But here’s the twist: you don’t have to vote with your party’s preference if you don’t want to. If you don’t have a point card for a particular idea, you can make deals with other players and agree to vote a certain way on certain issues. It’s all about strategy and negotiation!
Let’s talk about deals in the group. It’s important that we discuss them openly, but only when it’s the initiator’s turn. Remember, deals in this game are non-binding, so you can break them without breaking the rules.
The gameplay continues in the group until a player runs out of voting cards. At that point, we tally up the points for that round. Then, we shuffle the point cards and deal them again. Each player gets 5 new voting cards added to their hand. If you have any voting cards left over, you can keep them and accumulate more throughout the game.
Now, the second player becomes the one who chooses the category to vote on first. This rotation continues until a player reaches 40 points.
END OF GAME
The game concludes when a player reaches 40 points. And when that happens, they are declared the winner!
