Discover the Joy of Ohanami
Come and explore the enchanting world of Ohanami, where you can create breathtaking gardens and earn points as you go. In this game, I have the opportunity to build up to three stunning gardens throughout each round. But here’s the catch – to expand my gardens, I must carefully choose cards that have numbers higher or lower than the cards I already have. It’s a delicate balance that requires strategy and foresight.
As I embark on this adventure, I find myself taking turns with the other players, carefully selecting cards to add to my gardens. We continue this dance until all the cards have been claimed, signaling the end of a round. And guess what? There are three rounds in total, so I have ample chances to create the most magnificent garden possible.
Getting Started
Setting up the game is really simple. Just shuffle the deck and give each player 10 cards. Make sure somebody has a pen and paper ready to write down the scores as the game progresses. And now, we’re ready to get started!
LET’S PLAY
Okay, the first thing I’m going to do is pick two cards from my hand and put them face up in front of me. Then, I’ll pass my deck of cards to the person sitting next to me, going clockwise. It’s their turn now. They’ll do the same thing – pick two cards, put them down, and pass the deck to the next person.
Now, here’s an important rule: each player can only have three gardens at a time, which means three columns of cards. It’s totally up to you how you want to use your two cards. You can use both of them, use just one, or if you don’t want either, you can throw them in the middle discard pile.
When it comes to building a garden, it’s important to pay attention to the numbers on the cards. You need to play a card into the garden that has a number higher than the highest number in the garden or lower than the lowest number in the garden. If the card’s number falls in between these two numbers, you can’t play it in that garden, but you can start a new one.
Once there are no more cards to be played, the round ends. Players then calculate their points and record them on the scorepad. The gameplay continues counterclockwise for the second round and clockwise for the third round. The game concludes after the third round.
END OF GAME
The game comes to an end after three rounds of gameplay. At the end of the third round, the players add up their scores. The player with the highest score wins!
