O’NO 99

Hey there, I’m O’NO 99, an awesome card game for 2 to 8 players. The whole point of me is to avoid making that discard pile get over 99. Let me tell you how to get started.

SETUP

Alright, let’s dive into the setup. First up, we need to pick a dealer. It can be anyone, just roll the dice or flip a coin, you know the drill. Once the dealer is chosen, shuffle the deck, and then deal 4 cards to each player. The remaining cards are going to be our stockpile, and we’ll set that right in the middle. Make sure to leave some space next to it for our discard pile. Oh, and by the way, each player is going to get 3 tokens. Cool, huh?

Card Abilities

Now, here’s the deal with my cards. We’ve got three copies of each number card from 2 to 9. Every time you play one of these, it adds that amount to the total value of the discard pile. So play smart! Then we’ve got four hold cards. These ones are special because they don’t change the value of the discard pile at all. And last but not least, we’ve got six reverse cards. When you play one of these bad boys, it changes the rotation of play. But here’s the catch, it doesn’t mess with the value of the discard pile. Oh, and when there are only two players left, the reverse card basically becomes a hold card. Pretty neat, right?

Hey, did you know there are ten 10 cards in this game? Pretty cool, right? These bad boys increase the discard pile value by ten. Exciting stuff!

But wait, there’s more! We’ve also got four -10 cards. These sneaky little devils decrease the discard pile value by ten. Gotta watch out for those tricky moves!

Now, let’s talk strategy. You’ve got two double-play cards up your sleeve. These babies keep the discard value the same, but here’s the catch – the next player must play two cards to the discard pile before they can pass. Talk about shaking things up!

And last but not least, we’ve got four 99 cards. These bad boys don’t mess around. They set the discard pile value at a solid 99. Can you handle the power?

GAMEPLAY

Alright, now let’s dive into the gameplay. It’s super simple, I promise. We start with the player to the left of the dealer and go clockwise from there. Easy peasy.

Here’s how it works: on your turn, you get to choose one of the 4 cards in your hand to throw onto the discard pile. But wait, there’s more! After you make your move, you gotta shout out the new value of the discard pile. Gotta keep everyone on their toes!

Oh, and don’t forget, after you’ve made your epic move, it’s time to draw a new card from the stockpile. Gotta replenish that hand of yours!

When we start the discard pile, it’s empty and has a value of 0. As we play cards to the discard pile, the value will change. But here’s the catch – if at any point the value of the pile goes over 99 points, you lose. And that’s not good. Your cards are taken away, and we start a new round.

If you go over 99 points, you lose a token. You have three tokens, and if you lose all of them, you can never go over 99 points again. If you do, you’re out of the game.

THE END

And then there was one. The game ends when only one player is left standing. That player is the winner! Congratulations!
