MIND THE GAP

Welcome to Mind the Gap, a trivia board game that brings together players of all ages, from 10-year-olds to Boomers. You can form teams or play individually if you don’t have enough players. It’s up to you if you want to work together or compete against each other. Are you ready to settle the age-old question of which generation is the best? Let the game be the judge!

Setting up the Game

Alright, let’s get this game started! First things first, we need to set up the game board. Place it right in the middle of where we’re playing, right between us. Make sure not to mix up the different sets of cards – let’s keep the generations separate. Put each set of cards in its designated spot on the board. And don’t forget to place the challenge cards in the center!

Now, it’s time to form teams. How we choose our teams is up to us. We can go with generational groups, where each team is made up of people from the same generation. Or, we can mix it up and have at least one person from each generation on every team. Each team will have their own cube, which we’ll place on their assigned color on the board.

Okay, we’re almost there! Just one last thing before we begin – let’s pick which team goes first. And with that, we’re all set to start the game!

LET’S LEARN HOW TO PLAY MIND THE GAP!

Mind the Gap is an exciting game that you can play with your friends. It’s played in turns, and the direction of the game goes clockwise. The first team gets to pick a category from the generation they’re starting with.

When it’s your team’s turn, you’ll be asked a question related to the category you chose. If you manage to answer the question correctly, you’ll have the chance to roll the dice and move around the board! That’s awesome, right? But, if you can’t give the right answer, your turn ends and you’ll miss the opportunity to move ahead.

When you play the game, you can tell which question cards are yours by looking at the icons on them. There are four icons for each of the five categories, and each icon represents a different generation. As you move around the board, you may land on different spaces. If a space has a star, you get to choose a player to draw a Challenge Card.

The player who draws the Challenge Card will read the instructions and have sixty seconds to get their team to correctly guess the challenge. Use the sand timer to make sure you stay within the time limit. If your team answers correctly, you can roll the dice and keep going. If you can’t answer correctly, your turn is over and you have to try another Challenge Card before you can move forward.
