Lost cities game rules – how to play lost cities

LOST CITIES

In the captivating world of Lost Cities, I embark on thrilling archaeological expeditions to various extraordinary sites. It’s a game that keeps me on the edge of my seat as I strategically plan my moves to maximize my success. With every turn, I weigh my options and make calculated decisions that will ultimately determine my fate. The adventure begins!

SETUP

Before diving into the action, I make sure to set up the game board right in the center, between me and my fellow explorer. As I shuffle the deck, anticipation builds. Each player is dealt eight cards face down, making sure to keep them secret. The remaining cards are stacked beside the game board, creating the draw pile. Now, everything’s in place and the game is about to unfold.

GAMEPLAY

Alright, let’s get this game started! I’ll explain the rules to you. The oldest player goes first, and then we’ll take turns going clockwise. Each player only plays cards on their own side of the board. Here’s what you need to do on your turn:

First, you have to play one card from your hand. Then, you get to draw a new card. Simple, right?

To play a card, you have to place it in your own column. You can start a new column or add to an existing one. Just make sure to put your card at the end of the column. Oh, and wager cards can only be placed at the beginning of a column, but only after a wager card. Once a number card is placed in a column, no more wager cards can be added.

If you don’t want to play a card, you can discard one instead. Just put it face up on the board in the matching color discard pile. Only the top card should be visible.

Hey there! Let’s talk about how to play this exciting game I recently discovered. When we play, we get to discard and draw cards, trying to outsmart our opponents. So, here’s how it works:

Each player will take turns either discarding a card or playing a card. After that, you’ll need to draw a new card to add to your hand. You have two choices: either pick the top card from the discard pile or grab the top card from the draw pile. Simple, right? We’ll repeat this process for three rounds, and then we’ll find out who the winner is!

Game Over!

The game ends once we’ve completed three rounds. How do we know when a round is finished? Well, it’s when we’ve drawn the very last card from the draw pile. At that point, it’s time to tally up our scores. Here’s the deal: we add up the values of all the cards we’ve collected. But wait, there’s a catch! We have to subtract 20 points from each row’s sum. Fair, right? Oh, and if a column has at least eight cards, it gets a bonus of 20 points. Exciting stuff!

Once we’re done calculating the points, we write them down. And guess what? We get to play for three rounds in total. At the end of it all, the player with the most points is crowned the winner! Are you ready?

By the way, my name is Ellie! I live in beautiful Northeast Tennessee. I’m a lover of animals, fantasy fiction, and everything outdoors. I’m lucky to have an amazing husband who adores me almost as much as our two furry pets. I’m thrilled to be part of this wonderful community. Let’s have a blast playing this game together!
