Game Setup
Alright, let’s get this game started! First things first, put the game board smack dab in the middle of the playing area. Make sure those Veilstones find their rightful spot too. Now, everybody grab four dice. If there are any leftovers, they can go back in the box. Each player should also have a scoring token, and where you put it on the board depends on how many players are in the game.
So, here’s the deal on life points: if it’s just you and one other player, you both start with thirty life points. If there’s three of you, twenty-five life points each. And if you’ve got a full house of four players, each of you starts with twenty life points. Oh, and don’t forget the reference cards! You can either hand them out or lay them out on the tables. Just make sure they’re not mixed in with the deck. Speaking of which, shuffle that deck up and deal four cards to each player. And hey, you can look at your own cards, but don’t go peeking at what everyone else has!
So, here’s what you do next. Take those leftover cards and put them face down on the board, right where the Fate Deck space is. And just like that, you’re all set to start the game!
GAMEPLAY
In this game, we use dice and cards to defend, attack, and gather resources. There are four phases in gameplay: Upkeep Phase, Forge Roll, Reveal Phase, and Attack Phase. It’s important to follow the correct order and complete all phases.
During each phase, we all take our turns at the same time. We roll our dice together, use our cards together, and only move to the next phase once everyone finishes the current one. When all the phases are done, the next round starts.
When it’s time to take care of things in the game, there are four phases that I go through: Upkeep, Forge Roll, Reveal, and Attack. In the Upkeep Phase, I can get rid of any cards I don’t want anymore and get some new ones to replace them. It’s all about keeping my hand fresh and ready to go.
During the Forge Roll, I roll my dice and use the results to pay for special cards. These cards have actions on them that I can use to my advantage. It’s like spending my resources wisely to get the most out of them.
Next comes the Reveal Phase. This is when I show everyone else the cards I’ve chosen from the previous phase. It’s a moment of surprise and strategy, because I want to make sure my opponents don’t know what I have up my sleeve.
Finally, there’s the Attack Phase. This is where the real action happens. I get to attack the other players, trying to bring down their life totals. If I can get their life totals to zero, they’re out of the game.
Speaking of life totals, when a player gets attacked, their life total goes down. When someone’s life total reaches the bottom of the life track, they’re out of the game. It’s a race to see who can survive the longest.
END OF GAME
The game ends when there’s only one player left standing. This happens when everyone else has a life total of zero or less. The last player standing is declared the winner of Godsforge. It’s a sweet victory for the strongest player.
