FOR SALE
Hey there! Have you ever played For Sale? It’s an exciting game where you get to buy and sell real estate. Let me tell you how it works. The game is divided into two phases: the buying phase and the selling phase.
SETUP
So, let’s get started with the setup. First, you need to divide the cards into two piles – one for Property cards and one for Currency cards. Make sure they are facing down. If there are three to four players, each player will need two two-thousand-dollar tokens and fourteen one-thousand-dollar tokens. But if you have five to six players, each player only needs two two-thousand-dollar tokens and ten one-thousand-dollar tokens.
Finally, I’ll talk about what happens when it’s time to discard some cards. In a game with three players, we get rid of six cards from each stack. But in a game with four players, we only discard two cards from each stack. Once we’ve done that, we’re ready to start playing.
Let’s Play the Game!
We play the game in two different phases: buying property and selling property. First, we enter the buying phase. We reveal a number of properties equal to the number of players. Then, the player with the biggest house starts by placing some coins on the table. Going around the group in a clockwise direction, each player decides whether they want to bid or not.
If I want to bid in a game, I have to make sure that my bid is higher than the previous bid. The bidding will keep going until everyone decides not to bid anymore. If I choose to pass, then I will get the property on the table with the lowest value, but I will only get half of my bid back. It’s smart to keep my money secret because it can give me an advantage at certain times.
When we’re done buying properties and it’s time to sell, we can trade our property cards for currency cards. A number of currency cards are flipped over, equal to the number of players. Each player picks one of their property cards and puts it face-down in front of them. Once everyone has chosen, we all reveal our cards at the same time. The player with the highest-valued property gets the highest-valued currency card, and so on.
Game Over
Hey there! It’s time to wrap up the game. Once all the properties have been sold, we can call it a day. Now, let’s calculate our scores. We’ll need to add up our Currency cards and coins. Whoever has the most money will be the winner! So, let’s tally up and see who’s the champion!
