Welcome to Diamond Derby Downs

I am thrilled to introduce you to Diamond Derby Downs, an exciting card game perfect for 2 or more players. In this game, our objective is to place bets and win more than anyone else!

Before we dive into the gameplay, let’s take a moment to understand the setup and bidding process.

Setting Up and Placing Bets

To start, we randomly assign a dealer who also acts as the banker. The betting layout consists of a sheet of paper divided into four equal parts. Each part corresponds to a specific number: 3 on the top left, 2 on the top right, 4 on the bottom left, and 1 on the bottom right.

Now, it’s time to place our wagers. You can do this by putting your chips on either the corners or sides of the betting layout. Placing your chips in a corner means you are betting on a single horse, while placing them on the side divides your bet between two horses.

Let the Games Begin!

When all the bets have been placed, the dealer will begin the race. The dealer chooses a random number of cards from the top of the deck. They then divide this random amount of cards into four equal piles. One by one, the cards are dealt to these piles. When there aren’t enough cards to split evenly among the piles, the race is over.

If there is only one card left, horse one is the winner. If there are two cards left, the second horse wins. If there are three cards remaining, the third horse is the winner. And if there are no cards left, the fourth horse wins the race.

PAYOUTS

Once the race is over, payouts are made. If you win a corner bet, you will receive 3 chips. If you win a side bet, you will be awarded a single chip.

END OF GAME

You can play the game as many times as you want. You can also join or leave the game between rounds if you like. There isn’t an official winner in this game, although players could decide that the person who wins the most money is the winner.
