It’s also known as “Follow the Queen.” Prepare yourself for an unforgettable gaming experience!

When we play this game, we each put in a little bit of money at the beginning, called an ante. It’s usually 10% of the smallest bet.

At the start of the game

After we put in the ante, the dealer gives each of us three cards. Two cards are facing down and one card is facing up.

The player with the lowest facing up card is the first one to bet. They have to pay a special bet called the bring-in, which is less than the minimum bet (it’s halfway there). Then, it’s our turn to bet and we can either match the bring-in or bet even more. If someone raises the bet, we all have to choose whether to match their bet, raise even higher, or fold and leave the game.

When we get the fourth card

The dealer gives each of us one more card, facing up. We have another round of betting, following the same rules as before. After this round, we can bet as much as we want.

When we get the fifth card

When playing poker, the dealer gives each player one more card that they can see. Afterwards, there is another round of betting where you can choose whether to bet or not.

SIXTH STREET

Then, each player gets one more card that they can see. The betting continues like before. Just remember, the bets are now at their highest level.

SEVENTH STREET

The dealer gives everyone their last card that they can see. Now, it’s time for the final round of betting.

SHOWDOWN

Now, all the players show their cards. The player with the best hand, based on the Poker Hand Rankings, gets half of the money in the pot. The player with the highest or lowest Spade card (depending on whether you’re playing Chicago High or Chicago Low) as their secret card gets the other half. The secret cards are the two cards that the dealer gave you face-down.

If one player has both the best hand and the Spade card, they can win everything or the other half will go to the player with the second-best Spade card.
