Boat Race is a super fun drinking game that’s easy to play and guarantees lots of laughter! You’ll definitely capture some hilarious moments as players try to chug their beer as fast as possible without making a mess.
WHAT YOU NEED
All you need to play Boat Race is a plastic Solo cup for each person and a beer to fill up the cups. It’s also a good idea to choose someone to be the referee and make sure nobody spills or drops their cups.
SETUP
The setup is really simple. Just pour a whole beer into each player’s cup and line up the teams. Then, the referee does a 3-second countdown to start the game.
THE PLAY
Boat Race is like a relay race with drinks. One person starts drinking and when they finish, the next person can start. The fun part is that when someone finishes drinking, they have to put the cup on their head for the rest of the game.
If a player spills their drink while drinking, their team gets a 5-second penalty and they have to wait before they can drink again. And if someone accidentally drops their cup from their head, everyone on the team has to stop drinking until all the cups are back on heads.
WINNING
When we play a game called “Cup Balancing,” the goal is for my team to finish all of our drinks and have the cups balanced on our heads simultaneously. It’s a race to see who can complete this task first and come out as the winners. But what happens if it’s too close to determine the winner?
If it’s too hard to call, the referee has two options. They can either give the win to the team with the fewest penalties or declare a sudden death round. In the sudden death round, the teams that tied must choose one player each to participate in a single beer chug challenge. The player who finishes drinking their beer the fastest will be the ultimate winner.
