BIBLIOS

Hey there! I see you’re embarking on an epic quest to create the most extraordinary collection of sacred books ever known. Exciting stuff! But hold on tight, because you’re not alone in this endeavor. Other wise abbots are also vying for the same sacred books. It’s going to be a challenge, but if you’re clever enough, you might just come out on top. Just remember, your opponents are just as cunning as you!

SETUP

Alright, let’s get started with the setup. Place the gameboard right in the middle of the play area where everyone can easily reach it. Make sure each category has a die on it, with the three facing upwards. Now, depending on how many players there are, we’ll need to discard some cards. If there are two of you, let go of six gold cards and 21 random cards. For three players, discard three gold cards and 12 random ones. And if you’ve got a full house of four players, you only need to get rid of 7 random cards.

Hey there! Let’s talk about playing card games. When we play, we sometimes have to discard cards. You know, get rid of them. But here’s the catch – any cards we discard need to be replaced. So, we draw new cards from the deck, and they can be any kind of card. Pretty cool, huh?

TIME TO PLAY

Playing the game is divided into two parts. First, we have the Gift Phase, and then we move on to the Auction Phase. Once we pick the first player, they become the active player. That just means it’s their turn to play. The active player draws a card and puts it in front of them for everyone to see. They can also add it to the Auction pile if they want. Now, if we’re playing with just two players, each player gets 3 cards. With 3 players, they each get 4 cards. And if we have 4 players, they each get 5 cards. Enough for everyone!

When it’s your turn, make sure to place at least one card in front of you and one in the Auction pile. We’ll start with the player on the left and draw a card from the public space. This is the gift phase.

Once the gift phase is done, it’s time for the auction phase. Take the top card from the draw pile and put it in the middle of the playing area. Now we can start bidding for the cards.

Keep going like this until all the cards in the draw pile are used up.

END OF GAME

Once the draw pile is empty, the game is over. Now it’s time to tally up the points. Each player will calculate their score for each category. The player with the most points in a category will earn the Victory Points associated with that category. The player with the most Victory Points overall wins the game!
