Hey there! Have you played Bestia? It’s an awesome Italian card game where the goal is to capture as many tricks as possible. Let me tell you how it works!

Get Ready to Play

First things first, let’s talk about the cards. Bestia uses a special deck of 40 cards. In this deck, the cards are ranked in a unique way. We have the low cards: 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, Jack, Queen, King, and Ace as the highest card.

Now that you know the cards, let’s get into the game. Before we start dealing the cards, everyone has to put some poker chips into the pot. This is called the ante, and it’s like a little bet. Make sure you decide how much the ante will be before the game begins.

Alright, now it’s time to deal the cards. The dealer will shuffle the deck and then give each player 5 cards face down. And here’s a cool part – we also have a trump suit for each round! The dealer will turn over the top card from the deck, and whatever suit that card is, that becomes the trump suit for that round. Remember, the trump suit can be really important, so keep an eye out for it!

Start Capturing Tricks

Once the cards are dealt, it’s time to start playing! The goal is to capture as many tricks as possible. A trick is when each player plays one card, and the player with the highest ranking card of the suit led wins the trick. After a trick is won, the next player leads the next trick. And we keep playing like this until all the cards are used.

Now, here’s the catch. If you don’t capture any tricks in a round, you’re going to lose some of your chips. Yep, it’s a bit of a risk. So make sure you strategize and play your cards wisely to win those tricks and earn some winnings!

Time to Have Fun

That’s pretty much the basics of Bestia. It’s a super fun game, and it’s even better when you play with friends or family. So grab a deck of Bestia cards, gather everyone around, and let the tricks begin!

When I look at my cards, I have a few options. First, I can fold if I don’t want to play. I just put my cards face down on the table. If there are only two of us left, we both split the prize.

Another choice I have is to play. This means I can trade up to five cards from my hand. If I don’t want a card, I get rid of it and the dealer gives me new ones to replace them.

Lastly, I can knock to start the game right away. Once I knock, no one can fold or trade cards anymore.

Be Third – sometimes, you may find yourself in a situation where there are only two players remaining in a game. In this case, if you claim to be the third player, you can continue playing. However, if there are already three other players still in the game, you must fold.

After all the betting is done, each player who decides to stay in the game has to add more money to the pot.

The Game

Normally, the game starts with the player to the left of the dealer. If a player knocks during the betting phase, they get to go first in the next round. They can play any card to start the round.

Each round, the dealer position moves to the left. So, everyone gets a chance to be the dealer and have control over the game. Take turns and have fun!

THE PAYOUT

When we play this game, the total pot of chips is split into five equal parts every round. Each trick that a player captures earns them one-fifth of the pot. If you don’t manage to win any tricks, you won’t earn anything and you’ll have to put an equal number of chips into the pot as it is currently worth.

If you decide to knock and don’t capture any tricks, you’ll have to pay one and a half times the value of the pot for the next hand.
