AUSONIA: The Last Surviving Land After the Witchplague

Welcome to Ausonia, the last surviving land after the devastating Witchplague. As the ruler of one of the powerful houses, your quest for dominance begins. With magical gemstones and a loyal following, you will compete against other houses to claim control over this fertile territory. The battle for power is about to begin, and only the most influential house will emerge victorious.

Getting Started

So, let’s get started with the setup! First, we need to determine who goes first. We can do this by randomly choosing a starting player. The chosen player will receive the first Starter Deck, while the other players will get one of the other Starter Decks. You can identify the matching cards by the text on the bottom side of the cards.

Once everyone has their decks, it’s time to shuffle them up. Take your deck and give it a good shuffle. Then, place your deck right in front of you. This will be your Draw Pile, where you’ll draw cards from throughout the game.

As we play, we’ll be using cards from our decks. When we use a card, we’ll place it beside our draw pile. This creates our Discard Pile. It’s important to keep track of this pile, as it may come in handy later on.

Now, let’s talk about influence points. Each player will start the game with ten influence points. These points represent your power and influence in the game. Keep a tally of your points, as they will fluctuate during play.

We also need to set up the Power Deck. Take the Power Cards and shuffle them up. Then, place them in a face-up pile in the center of the playing area. This will be our Power Deck, which will provide us with additional abilities and options during the game.

Lastly, we’ll create the favor deck. Again, shuffle the cards and place them in a face-down pile. This will be our favor deck, which contains special cards that can give you an advantage when played.

Now that the setup is complete, we’re ready to dive into the game! I can’t wait to see what strategies and tactics we’ll come up with.

Let me explain how the game works. First, I draw the top four cards from the flavor deck and put them face up in a row. We call this row the Offer Row. You can buy these cards anytime during the game, but remember to replace them immediately after.

Next, each player takes six cards from their draw pile. At the end of my turn, I make sure to have six cards in my hand. It’s important to always have at least six cards, but you can have more throughout the game. Now we’re ready to start playing!

GAMEPLAY

When it’s my turn to play, I go through two phases: the action phase and the end turn phase. First, during the action phase, I can do a bunch of cool things. I can build sources, activate abilities, buy cards, and play them. When I play cards, I put them face-up on the table, in the Play Area. There are two types of cards: Gem Cards and Favor Cards, and I can play both of them during my turn.

Each card has special powers that I can use. Gem Cards let me collect gems that I can use as resources. I can even use these gems to buy more cards from the offer row. But, if I decide to buy a card, I have to refill the spot where I got it from. This way, the game keeps moving and new cards become available for everyone to see.

When you’re using favor cards, you might need to spend resources to activate their special abilities. You can see the cost in gems at the top left corner of the card. Remember, you can only use an ability once per turn.

If you ever run out of cards in your draw pile, don’t worry! Just shuffle your discard pile and place it where your draw pile was. After you finish your action phase, it’s time for your end turn phase. Put all the cards in your play area into your discard pile, get rid of any unwanted cards from your hand, and draw six new cards. Then it’s the next player’s turn, and the round continues clockwise around the group.

END OF GAME

So, here’s the deal: when you reach sixty influence points in the game, that’s when the endgame kicks in. The current round keeps going until it’s over, and that’s when we tally up the points. And guess what? The player with the most points wins the whole shebang!

Howdy, folks! The name’s Ellie, and I hail from the beautiful land of Northeast Tennessee. Now, let me tell ya, I’m a huge animal lover. Whether it’s a tiny critter or a majestic beast, I adore them all. And you know what else? I’m absolutely crazy about fantasy fiction novels. They take me on epic adventures without ever leaving my cozy nook. Oh, and nature? I can’t get enough of it! Give me some fresh air and sunshine, and I’m a happy camper. But you know what’s even better? I’ve got an amazing husband who loves me almost as much as our two adorable fur babies. I feel so lucky to be a part of this incredible community.
