Experience the Magic of Auld Lang Syne

Welcome to Auld Lang Syne, a wonderfully uncomplicated solitaire game that offers a refreshing challenge and a touch of uncertainty. With only a slim chance of winning, around 1%, every move counts as you navigate through the intricacies of this enchanting game.

The Delightful Cards and Captivating Layout

Let’s get started! Begin by taking out the four Aces from the deck and placing them in a row. These will serve as your foundation piles, forming the backbone of the game. Next, give the remaining cards a good shuffle. This will be your draw pile, with the cards kept face down for an added element of suspense. Now, deal four cards face up in a row beneath the foundation cards to create your tableau, the main area where the game unfolds.

THE GAME

When you play Auld Lang Syne, your goal is to move all the cards to the foundation piles based on their suits. You can only move the top cards from the tableau to the foundations. The foundations are built in ascending order, following the suit.

Start by checking the first four cards on the tableau. If any of these cards can be moved to the foundation piles, go ahead and do so. For example, if there is a 2 of spades on the tableau, move it to the spades foundation pile. If there are no other cards that can be moved to the foundations, deal four more cards face up on top of the previous row. If there are any empty spots on the tableau, fill them in with cards from the draw pile. Once a covered card becomes uncovered, you can play it.

Continue playing like this until you have built all the foundations or until you run out of legal moves.
